Prostars Question
I just want to make sure that I have the right size before I buy
15 x 3.5, 5 x 4.75, 1.75" backspacing.
15 x 8, 5 x 4.75, 5.5 " backspacing.
Am I going to have to grind the brakes?
I plan on running 275 50 15 M/t ET street Radials.
What fronts do you guys recommend?
What else am I going to have to buy?
1/4 " spacer for the fronts?
What about different lug bolts?
I posted this in the wheel section, but i think that I'll more of a response here since most people here are running skinnies/ fatties for drag racing setups.
Thanks in advance.

I prefer the 15x5 front. On the 5" wheel the back space is 3.5, that leaves 1.5 to the outside. A 3.5 has 1.75 back and leaves 1.75 outside. So the 5" wide wheel actually sucks the tire in farther.

I've thought about that. I know that I can run the 275 60 15, 28" tire on the 8" wheel but I'm not ready to go to a 28" tire yet. I don't have the money for a gear change right now. I do want to run 3.73s with a 28" tire when I start making more power, and I can always buy the 10" rims later and sell the 8" ones. I just want to go with what is in my budget right now. If I go with a 28" tire now it will take out too much of my gearing...dang 3.23s and prolly slow me down.

get the 10" wide. you will regret getting the 8" 7.5BS as said above. both 8 and 10" wide require grinding. might as well put all that tire on the ground. nothing wrong with the 26" radials on a 10" rim. it will work better. nothing wrong with the 3.23 gears. you will be fine untill you want lower to mid 10s imo.
15x3.5 1.75" fronts. otherwise you will have to do what i did. 5" wide is not going to work. jsut a spacer is needed. 7/16 mr gaskets work well and are cheap.
you have to get the long shank 7/16 lugnuts. its just over 1" shank.
call me if you have any questions

I agree, go with the bigger rim and a 26" tire. You'll be happy you did.

Like a few people metioned you will need the shank style lugs. Maybe I missed it but I didnt see anyone post that you should get longer wheel studs. That is if you plan on passing track inspection. Some tracks might let you go, but I know the track around here is really strict about having long enough wheel studs when running slicks.
