Default Lightweight vs. Battery relocation

What would you guys recomend for a street/strip car? I'm concerned w/ starting problems w/ the hawker battery, and I don't really like the idea of adding 20 lbs of a cable when I'm really trying to remove weight from the car.
Will the hawker have problems sitting for a week or so between starts?

Damn Craig i dont know.... the whole cable thing really adds some weight but ya also have to add a Battery cutoff to the back of the car also..... i just turn my switch off when im not driving the car..... did that for almost a month and she fired on the 1st try after that... thats my side of it.... if your trying to get the weight out of her id say go lighter up front and then save for a K-member.

i say go for the light battery up front. only REAL reason to go with a battery in the back is an NHRA shutoff switch.

FYI relocating the battery to the right rear, where you want weight for traction, only requires 10.0 lbs of cable.

LW battery upfront, loose the most weight that way. Set up the suspension and get the tire for traction.

If you don't need the room under the hood I would put a light weight battery up front. No cable relocations or kill switch to deal with. Just make up a strap for the new battery and off you go.

You also have to consider that a 13lbs battery like the PC680 may give you problems when mounted in the rear. You may have to go with something like the 25lbs PC925, plus the weight of cables and the kill switch. It's nice having remote terminals out back though.

I was assuming I'd have to use a full size battery in the trunk, I'd never even thought of a smaller one out back.
I'm leaning towards keeping it in the stock location for now at least. The only big plus for me in the back would be clearing up some space for a stand alone fuel cell, but I shouldn't be neeeding that for quite a while.

I just put a oddysey pc680 in my car, it cranks a high compression 402 over no problem, I'd just keep a batery tender on teh car when it's not running for safety.. can't hurt. A simple strap of alum, attached with thefactory bolt and a single good sized sheet metal screw on the front radiator support on top of the battery is all I did, and it's in tight. I positioned the strap so it sits between the ribs on the battery case, it holds it in real tight that way. I also made a slight notch to the plastic on the top for the strap to sit down in the groove the whole lenth of the battery, I'm 275 and I can pull on it HARD and it doesn't move, and it's sitting on top of the factory tray... I'd go that route.

I voted to put out back. But then I read its a street strip and I would say just go light up front. I am finally moving to back but It has to be to meet safety regulations. 10.99 or quicker requires battery kill switch and if you have to do that you might as well put it in the back.

It has 425 CA vs 280 CA of the odyssey. How do 11.5:1 LSx motors do turning over on the Odyssey?
