Default My 2nd time out with the glide... switched to 3.73's...

This is a follow on to my thread from 2 weeks ago when I swapped my A4 to a glide... I noticed that when going to the glide I lost the ability to lock my converter, so I ended up running out of gear with my 4.10's... Check out this link for more details...
https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/577472-so-i-swapped-my-a4-glide.html
I was expecting to slow down a little when running on the motor with 1.76 1st gear and converter that was speced out to handle a 300HP shot... I was really happy on friday night when I beat my previous NA best of 10.3@132 with a 10.1@134... On Saturday morning I did a spray pass with 200HP jets in my ring kit and ran a new spray best of 9.2@148 compared to 9.4@143 my last time out! Here's a video of that pass along with the time slips...

Great times,im also thinkin of putting 373 in instead of the 411s that are in now. With my a4 in im at 3100rpm at 80, its pretty brutal. Im going to see if it will run out of gear with a 27inch tire this saturday. If it does ill swap the gears.

Nice! Judging from your tire smoke carrying to the front of the car, the wind was at your back in your favor My last track outing the wind was hitting me head on against me. It's nice to see the wind working for someone instead of against them. That car is freeking moving man. When is the chute going on

Good observation The air was good and the wind was blowing down the track... I was a little out of the groove and spun off the line... I sixty footed in the high 1.3's before with less spray... it's hard to get the perfect run where all the stars align

Thanks guys! I have about another month of racing left in the season... I am shooting for an 8 second timeslip This winter I will need to upgrade my 6 point roll bar to a 10 or 12 point cage, along with certify the chassis and and a chute...

That was one hell of a tail wind. I'd say a lot of favor.

When are you going to up the pills? Sounds like it's time for a direct port and a 300+ shot. Good times!

congrats.. looks like the tranny swap was definately worth while.

Looks like the steering wheel's alot closer to center now too, did you change something to fix that?

Thanks

The problem I had was with the Madman adjustable tie rod end... he sent me an updated one... but for some reason the steering wheel was a little off... we'll check the tie rod ends as well as the BMR kmember...

We estimate about 650HP at the crank on the motor... TNT's jetting ussually gives RWHP...

650 flywheel and it's almost in the 9's on motor..... that's good! Did you dyno it after the tranny swap? I knwo that the converter realyl makes the # not mean much, just curious... I'm in the sameboat, my new motor's dyno # wasn't huge, but with a converter that flashes to about 6200 on the dyno, the #'s are kinda meaningless.

We did a little tuning on the dyno... the numbers with a 5200RPM stall and the glide don't mean much I find people get too hung up on RWHP numbers... it's the number at the track that counts... I have plugged in my results into different drag race calculators and they 620-630RWHP NA and 835RWHP on my spray pass... I don't think those numbers are accurate... if anything they give a better idea of crank HP...

kinda what I figured. After getting my car back, ther's no way the #'s that we got from the tuning are close, it's making WAY more power then what the dyno says. by the sounds of it my conv erter might be even looser then yours is... making the # even more meaningless.

You devil.. Got anything planned for that route yet? Why don't you just rework the current block? Wade going to do this setup too?
