Why Raptor over Harlan?

Why Raptor over Harlan? I'm in the market for a shift light and I'm wondering why you would buy a Raptor shift light (1000 to 9900 in 100RPM increments) over a Harlan shift light (500 to 12000 in 100RPM increments). Other than the Raptor has an aluminum housing. What's the big price difference?? Does one perform greater than the other some how 
I'm gonna mount it in the defroster vent so it doesn't matter what they look like... What gives
Edit: I ended up getting the Harlen shift light w/ red LED's. Here's my setup with an aluminum bezel I made.

i havnt tryed either shift light,but like you i thought that it didnt matter what kind you got so i got a cheap proform shift light and its not even close to right.if i set it to 5600 rpms my rev limmiter will come on befor the light and my rev limiter is set at 6000.im going to get an MSD just because i can use a pill and i have a lot of MSD stuf and have never had a problem with any of it.

The Harlan Shiftlight is an LED unit also...
I've had them both.
Only real difference is the raptor is a little thinner and you can adjust it right from the outside with two 'dials' instead of internal dip switches.
Both work the same but with Harlan's you are getting a nice piece plus donating to help push the limits of the LSx platform

i just got the raptor one. i guess i was confussed when i ordered, i thought that you had to have extra parts(rpm box) with the harlan. i guess i was wrong on that.
oh well, the raptor one is a very nice piece though. i just got it in the other day. it was 92 dollars with shipping though. yikes.

I have the Raptor and I love it! After having it I couldn't go without it. It only takes seconds to change the settings on it. Someone said it was too small to fit in the defroster vent in the a-pillar....nope, I just got a valve cover gromment from Auto-Zone, brand name was Spectre, it fits perfect.
