Default 15x8 guys what tire you have

I think I will go with 15x8 weld with the 5.5 bs just because i heard you dont have to do anything but bolt them on. What is the best tire size to run on these ? and why. Probaly go with the MT drag radial.Your times and set up will help in my decision also.I am going to get some QA1,s and the 275 springs for the front also and keep the rear springs and shocks for now.

You will still have to grind a little with a 15x8, but not as much as a 15x10.

Yes, I believe the only company that makes a direct fitting 15x8 is Bogart. I'm 99% sure that all the other's will require some caliper grinding if you're still using stock brakes.

From what I read on here the 15x8.5 convo pro is the only rim that doesn't require grinding. But as far as your tire selection, if you want a M/T DR then you can either go with a 275/50/15 (26" tire) or a 275/60/15 (28" tire). -Mark

The above are correct..... 15X8' u will have to grind the calipers if you use Weld wheels. I ran 275/60/15's on them and im lowered so i had to roll the fender a lil......
I decided to narrow my rear so i now have a 15x10 combo w/ 325/50/15's ..

I run a 15x8 weld drag lites but I believe I only have 4.5bs. I only had to grind a little away at the rear caliper, and run a a spacer up front. I need to get longer wheel studs to be track approved

Do you think running a 26x10.5x15 ET Drag wheel be to big for the 15x8 rims?

IMO the 26x10.5 is the perfect tire for a 15x8 wheel.

I ran 26x10.5 ET Streets on my car for years with great success.

If you are buying a new set, HIGHLY recommend going with a ET Street Radial.

So you are saying no problems running the 275 50 15 on the 15x8 rim.Sounds like you have run them enough to know and they dont wear in the center to fast ? Only reason I ask is the jegs site say the 10" rim is reccomended.I would rather run the 275 50 on the 8" rim if I could because I dont no rubbing and do not want to roll the inner fender on this car.

Also what are the benefits of running the 26 or 28 ? It will change your trap speed and 60 ft correct.I want to do it right the first time.
I am new to the drag strip and want to find the right set up for my car before I go to the track. To many questions I know.

i used to run the 275/60/15 m/t radial. no rubbing. no banging or cutting at all in the fender. went 1.47 60' @ 3500 lbs with a 3600 stall + nitrous. fit great on a 15x8 weld.

Why the radials over the ET street version. I've ran both and managed similar 60" times, but it seemed that track prep had to be at a premium for the radials to hook, and the ET's didn't need as much track prep? Sound possible

i along with most on this board with autos prefer the et radials over the streets by a long shot. the stick cars seem to have an issue with consistency on teh radials but still can get the job done.

go look at the dot class racing. no one runs the bias plys anymore. i have gone quicker on the radials than an et drag!

Sidewall is stiffer on the radials than the streets for a stick car. Can't hit them as hard. -Mark
