Anyone with a Manual Rack on a near DD
Looking into getting a manual rack, but my car sees quite a few miles (not a DD but close). How does this perform in day-to-day driving, and would you recommend this? What brand would you choose? Any suggestions on this delimma?

Not everyone wants skinnes, but some want the reduced weight and extra hp associated with going to a manual rack.
I enjoy the stock look with the "oh shiat what the heck do you have done to that car" replys as you put buses on other peoples race cars.

This is not a DD but could be. I want the reduced weight. I will run skinny's 1/3 of the time, maybe even 1/2 of the time, but when I decide to cruise it down to a show or get together I'd like to put on my regular rims (Z06's) and drive it. When you have a car that is NOT a full blown race car, but IS a pig, you look for every weight reducing item you can find.
Alot of pseudo racers I know just focus on power, and a little on suspension. they forget weight is a big part of the equation, so they got this big motor or nitrous set up in a car that weighs 3800+. With the right motor combo and weight reduction you can suprise these people, this is what I'd like to have.
So I guess my question is pretty much answered, unless I plan on only running skinny's I cannot run a manual rack huh.

Daily Driving skinnies isnt that bad...I've done it with no swaybar for over 4 months now. You can get some damn good looking drag wheels too.
I love my convo pros and get more compliments on them than I ever did with my TT2s.

I have seen a set of narrowed stock wheels guy took stock silver ss wheels, and narrowed them to I think 4 inches.... that might be an option to clear the manual rack. Tires would be cheaper, but it wouldn't drive like it has full skinnies on it (like say a sportsman front).
Madman, if you narrowed the rims, how much would you ahve ot take off to clear your rack? This might be an option for the guys that want some of both worlds.
