I just ordered a set that haven't come in yet, are there instructions that come with them that explain the adjustment? If not what setting is 50/50. For example all the way clockwise, or middle setting???

How are the 50/50's on the street in terms of handling compared to stock?

The instructions are printed on the box. Adjustment is fairly straight forward.

The adjustments are: 70/30, 60/40, and 50/50
what is the differences in the settings?
is the higher or lower number stiffer?
is the first or second number compression?
Lets say you are running 50/50 and the track prep is bad and you needed to hook a little better. Would you keep it as is or go with another setting? which setting?
would these settings be correct:
Traction/ET/Track Condition
70/30 best/slowest/worst
60/40 good/good/good
50/50 worst/Fastest/best

On the box it gives an explanation of the settings and when to use them. I can't remember right now. if no one else chimes in with the info, I will post it up what the box says tonight.

UPS tracking show they should be at my house today, and if nobody else posts it up then I will post up what the box states tonight...

According to Summit however, it states:
These Competition Engineering adjustable drag shocks offer a 3-way valving system to dial-in the extension/compression ratio needed for any track condition. The front shocks have three adjustable ratios of 90/10, 80/20, and 60/40. The ratios for the rear shocks are 70/30, 60/40, and 50/50. These numbers represent the percentage of force required to extend (first number) and compress (second number) the shock. By changing the settings on the front and rear shocks, you can dial-in the car to raise the front on initial launch for weight transfer, and then settle smoothly for a final charge to the finish line.

OK, I'm a little confused now...

I got home to find my new shocks in a plain brown box with summit's part number, not a CE box, and there are absolutly no instructions anywhere...

The shock are the CE and correct part number with C2700 in the side so I guess to save money they send them to summit in plain boxes...

So on the shock there are 3 settings XF, F, and R... What are these settings? Can I assume R is Race?

Thanks guys...

OK, I ordered mine from Speed Inc. who happen to be a sponsor here. They came in a nice box with pictures and instructions printed right on it.

Here ya go. BTW, this is for rear shocks. Fronts are different.

R = 50/50
F = 40/60
XF=30/70

To adjust:
Fully comress shock.

Note: When adjusting shock, keep in the upright position.

With shock still fully compressed, rotate clockwise for several revolutions after "clicks" are heard. This action full engages the adjustment mechanism.

Rotate notch indicator to desired setting.

From the box: A 30/70 setting allows the rear body to compress with minimal resistance for maximum weight transfer - the ideal setting for a slippery track. When track conditions are perfect, the 50/50 setting will not overload the rear wheels preventing wheel hop.

Hope this helps!

hmm,

Thats where mine are coming from. I was going to buy mine from byunspeed (they are the same price as summit) but I had to send something back and exhange it so I just got them from summit because shipping was not extra because they were already sending something to me.

I was going to go with a 2 way adjustable shock but with all the recent mods my mod buget is getting tighter so I figured these had to be better than the stock shocks that have been on the car for 9 years. These should hold me over for a while I hope.

If someone has instructions please post them.

Edit: I was a little slow typing this, got distracted. thanks for posting instructions.

Shocks seem like a good piece... I picked a set up. Only complaint is they're kinda confusing. You can click them around like all the way around the shock. I guess as long as you land on one of the desired 3 settings that means that's how they're set? Then what you just let the shock out and put it on the car. Just wanna make sure before I take her to the track.

You may wish to consider a Random Technology adjustable torque arm

Hows everyone doing with these shocks? Any updates? How do they hook on the street?

I bought a set from speed inc and they were a bad set, they wouldn't click, speed inc took care of it and sent me a new pair.
Don't know if im just being skeptical because of the bad set, but when adjusting they click all the way around and in real lightly were the settings are at.
I just got them in today and drove it around the block feels ok, are they suppose to do anything different, or how can I tell they're working correctly?

How's the Transbrake problem coming 98z28? Do you have a post on the build up on your car?

I still have C/E's in mine.

The CE shocks are still working fine for me, 8.90s (1.27 60') isnt bad for a set of cheap rear shocks, stock rear springs and SA Strange front shocks.

The car wont drive any different then regular shocks really, I use the 'middle' position, 40/60 or 60/40 or whatever it is..
