Default Video, New PB 9.51 @ 142 Nitrous Street Car

Here's a little video from the track rental that we had @ BMP on Saturday (Dead Hookers 6). These are the first times that I have ever carried the wheels more than a few inches. It was crazy. The car is hooking retarded. I brought slicks with me just to try them out but I couldnt get the DR's to spin so I didnt mess with the slicks.

200 out of the hole + another 200 over 1.5 sec. I think that she has a solid 9.3 in her as she sits. One big problem that I was having was that the t-brake wasnt holding the car up over 4K RPM so I couldnt launch all the way up on the converter. Not sure if this would have made for more or less wheelstand. The second problem that I was having was that I wasnt shifting second to drop the tires back down and was pedaling it instead. . It was my first time going up like that so it will take a few times before I have the faith required to stay in it and hope you dont hit anything cause all that you see is sky.

I went to PRI this weekend and saw somethings that should help me get into the 8's. On my list of things are the Amreican Racing 2" headers (currently running a 1 3/4 Jethot FTL), UD Pulley (still running the stock one), electric pump (still on stock), and a little more weight reduction. The car weighs 3350 w/o me and about 3675 with me in it. I can remove the air bags and door bars still. Should put me real close.

I am agressively persuing a new cam grind as well. My 244/248 612/615 111(+3)LSA cam doesnt seem to like the big shot as much as some of the bigger split grinds that I have seen. Crane has some big duration lobes w/o retarded amounts of lift. Thinking of trying a 246/256 624/624 113 (+2) LSA or so.

No water push. We have found that the pushing of the water happens at around 7300 RPM. So either you have to gear it down so as to not go there or set the window switch to shut it down before the end of the pass.

Mamofied AFR 225's.

Congrats and nice launches.

What was that smoke or whatever coming out of the car when the guy says "UH OH!"
It happened more than once?

Not pushing water is a good thing!

I know it says LS2 402, but is that an Iron Block by any chance?
If not, how are you getting it to hold a 400 Shot?

Good luck, you def have more in it.

325/50/15 MT DRs.

Transbrake still isnt working right. It will hold to about 4K RPM and then the car moves. What I was doing was holding the car to about 2500RPM and then when the first yellow comes down I would floor it and release the tbrake. As soon as the pedal hits the floor, the 200 shot comes in and starts the ramp.

Not sure about the smoke. I believe that the breather is puffing oil onto the header and that is the bi product. If not, its smoking out of my dumps because it's so rich on the gas.

Motor started life as an aluminum LS2 402. Hurt a piston and cylinder wall so I had to open it up a little. It's about a 408 now.

Low timing, rich on the fuel, and dont exceed 7200 RPM seems to keep it working.

Nice pass, sure once you sort out the chassis it'll fly. I'd look for a 1.43 or so on motor, and with the mph you ran 9.30 is definitely possible, do you have travel limiters?

I set up my friends car with a two step on the transbrake, and the nitrous hits as soon as the transbrake button is released, than way we are already full throttle.

Yeah, not sure if I mentioned it above or if it was on a different forum but there is a problem with my t-brake. It will not hold the car up over 4K RPM. So I wasnt able to launch of the top of the tbrake. I also do not have a 2 step but I intend on getting one. And last but not least, I have to rewire the nitrous because it comes on and starts ramping as soon as I go full throttle. This means that if I had it floored on the t-brake, it would be spraying and starting the ramp before I launch. Once I get this stuff all worked and I get a decent cam and some big headers, should be able to squeeze out a high 8.

Very nice, what fuel system? I have my NX wet stage wired thru the transbrake, turns off at WOT.

That one pass where you carried the fronts for a long time is sick.
