what is the difference between stiff side walls and soft for slicks?
what is the difference between stiff side walls and soft for slicks? i noticed alot of guys running 28x10.50x15s are getting the stiff side walls wouldnt one want soft side walls??
will the stiff side wall make the car hook better??

soft I dont mean to hijack your thread, but how big of a difference am I going to see with a normal sidewall. The reason I ask is because I have a set of 28x11.5 ET Drags with normal sidewalls that I plan on using this year and my car is an M6.

the stiffer sidewall also doesn't grow quite as much, so there's less clearance issues. At your weight you'd definately be better off with the stiff sidewall tire, hell I knwo of 3300 lb 9 second 4th gen cars that are running the stiff sidewall tire with very good luck.
FWIW I'm putting a set on my car this year, I suspect that those tires along with screwing them to the rims will net me some substantial gains over the 27x11 qtp's I was running at the end of last year. I'm expecting it shoudl probably knock .2 to .3 off just with the tire change, and screwing the tires to the rims.. the qtp's were moving about 1/2 way around the rim every pass LOL.
