Default now im trying a different carpet other than OZITE

this past weekend me and the OZITE had a tussle... me 0-1 OZITE...

i did not like the carpet at all... it would not stick, form, or stay in one spot... i guess im looking for a more professional look than just a light weight carpet mod..... i now have some pre molded carpet on the way with no holes or slits in it.... that way i can cut it exactically how i like.... the weight isnt what bothered me but the hole under the console did.... i do not have a console so it looked silly with the metal showing all the way down the drive shaft hump...

ill let you know how this carpet from http://www.stockinteriors.com/
lays and looks... i should have it maybe by friday, but probably mon or tuesday.

That actually is a very cool site. Even sells an after market head-liner (mine is shot from taking it in a out, roll-cage, etc). Price aren't too bad. Are you getting the full set or just the front part?

Just a suggestion..I would lean towards taking the padding off before install.. believe the pad would add a bunch of weight.

Keep us posted on the fitment of it.

Why not just use the stock carpet without the padding? Seems like that is basically what you are buying.

29.95 for a 76"x45" roll of non molded carpet is pretty cheap as well.

That stuff is no longer available. The mfg. changed some things and it made it as heavy as the stock carpet.

That is the last I heard anyway.

Because he said he deleted his console and that was the primary reason for new carpet, to not have metal showing where the console was.

And some people have 100,000 or more miles on their car/carpet. I know my car's carpet was rough looking, and there is no way i'm putting that nasty stuff back in the car after all the work/money i've spent on my rollcage/seats/steering wheel/harnesses.

That's partly why this place that Ty is using interests me so much as well. I like the price and weight of Ozite, but not the idea of a non-molded carpet. I don't mind spending an extra $100 to get a molded setup.

yes you are correct... that is the main reason.... im not real worried about 15 extra pounds if it will look nice and keep it a little quieter....

hopefully it will ship today and ill have it in the car in about 1.5 weeks.

Does it cover where the consol goes/went? Did you get the "One piece with rear deck"? Or just the front?

Thanks, Ed

What's the weight compared to the stock carpet? According to their website it comes with padding, so I assume it's not that much lighter than stock.
