It would be.. But I like thinking outside of the box as well.. It would be nice to have an ls1/x in the fastest stock suspension car.. wouldn't it?? But you have to know what you're up against first..

Wolfe has run 7.40s@197 on drag radials with stock mustang suspension. He'll go 6s easy this year.

Wolfe is not TOTALLY stock suspension, he has a little mini torque arm on the right side(or last time I heard) that Mustangs did not come with.

I know that there is an entire class for "sleepers" like that. I had read something about them requiring stock suspension, rims, and street tires. They were single digit cars. I'll see if I can find it again.

Depends on your rulebook! Stock-style IMHO means what it could have come with from the factory, so a Mustang would have a factory 4-link of upper and lower control arms, and some races are starting to go in that direction.

Only cars with a torque arm should be a 3rd-4th generation F-body or an '87 GNX.

A boy down in florida ran 200 mph on a drag radial but the throttle hung open and he wrecked the car. It was a red fox body. Can't remember the ET. Theres going to be a handful of guys running 7.60's and some 7.50's this year im sure.

I'll find the article I read on that ride (nasty crash too!), but I can tell ya people were running 7.70s at 190 mph + at the US Street Nationals last month, with the drag radial r/u going 7.64 at 194 mph a week later at Gainesville with a SBF single turbo 02 Mustang at 3,400 lbs.

EDIT: 7.49 at 201 mph was the pass.

He does run the stock style 4-link mustang setup, but he added in a tq arm as well. I was reading up on it a little bit and I guess the tq arm was just helping him not flex the floors of the car or something like that. I wish I still had that article sitting next to me. Either way, it's a very impressive car.

"he added in a tq arm as well" = not stock suspension IMHO, but as mentioned depends on the places you race. I know he was at Bradenton last year, but the rumor mill was they were only allowed stock-stype suspension that the cars originally came with, thus possibly the reason he wasn't in attendance. I'm not sure, just spitballing here.....

btw, from what i understand the rules state that the rear suspension must use stock mounting locations, which Wolfe's TCD does.
