Default Has anyone actually TRIED a TH400 trans shield (not CSR) in an F-body?

I have a JW bellhousing so the CSR is out, getting tired of dragging this trans blanket around with a deep pan and low car. Has anyone ever tried a B&M or TCI aluminum shield on one of these? The trans isnt that tight in there really..

I have a TCI shield that wouldn't even come close. Called TCI, bought the one they recommended. It sets on the shelf waiting for the power glide - possibly will fit, maybe next year.

I bought one from the place in Florida. It has several fit issues - the temp sensor (hole cut), the servo (I think it will clear that in the right orientation), but the biggie is the cooling lines. NO WAY! I would have had to grind the **** out of the right front corner, making it illegal, so it's sitting in my shed & my blanket is still on the car.

might be best to have your glide updated to a dedenbear case...no shield required then

A few cars ago the attempt was tried and it was useless unless you wanted to really hack up the car and make it work. It was worth it to just spend the extra money and buy the case or just use the bell/blanket combo as the cheapest route.

If I had a glide I'd probably just do the case.

I had a CSR shield on my other car but it wont fit with the ultrabell..

I have a csr shield and tht works fine.. I looked at a couple of the other metal shoelds that are out there (tci one, hughes) and there was no way they would fit... the csr seemed like the only real option that would work.

It's probably not as good as the ultrabell for comtaining a flywheel/converter explosion, but it's way better then nothing at all.

Kev - no help here as I run the glide, but I'll chime in for Kyle.

Kyle - I run a TCI shield and CSR flexplate shield (although you don't need that) and both fit fine.
