Default 1/8 mile times, what do you think the cars capable of in the 1/4?

Took my car to the track for the first time since I installed the procharger. I'm happy with the result's but could only go to the 1/8 and had to let out because I was running out of gear. Anyway, what do you think the car is capable of once I switch gears? With a 1.71 60', it ran 6.79@104.98 in the 1/8. It also did a 1.56 60' but I let out before the 1/8 so times were off. With a 60' like that and an 1/8 trap of 104.98, what kind of full 1/4 mile times am I looking at? On the 1/8 run to 104.98 I still got a 11.1 at only 96mph, I was on the brakes after the 1/8. I'm thinking low 10s maybe even sneaking into the 9s with a little better 60', what do you think, possible?

just a guess. . .10's, mid to high 10's...look at the timeslip database for people in the 10s and compare your 60/330/1/8ths...

On a 6.76 1/8 I went 10.42 in the 1/4. I did soft launch the car though, and rolled into it very slowly.

So mid 10's would be a good guess.

The only way I can explain that would be that I can only go about half way into the gas and then gradually push it down until I hit third. Otherwise I spin up to 70mph and probly higher but I let out because it's pretty scary fish tailing at 70mph.

Also is your car auto? Cause mine has a 4000 stall and with this amount of power it's slipping like a mother ******.

Sounds like easily mid 10's based on the mph... I am sure you can hit very low 10's with a lot less gear.

Cool, thats what I was hoping for. If I go to a th400, I won't have to go down(numerically) in gears because the th400 is geared differently than the 4l60e, right? I don't want to change more than once so I need to figure out a good th400/gear combination for the rest of my set-up. Anyone know how to figure this out? I was thinking a 3.42 gear would be good but after reading some other threads, some guys are doing really well with a 4.11 gear. If I can get away with leaving the 4.11s and just changing the 4l60e, that would be best because I know the 4l60e won't last anyway. I want to avoid changing gears now, then upgrading to a th400 and then having to change gears again.

Main gearing difference between A4s and A3s is 1st, and some times 2nd, but 3rd on both types is still 1:1 on the motor///

anyway, try f-body.org/gears

4L60, and T350, T400 are all 1:1 in 3rd gear. 4L60E is a 3.06 first gear, and the T400 is typically a 2.48 first gear.

Your 4.11's really never work, you at most would want 3.73's even assuming a 28" tall for either gear.

I'm running a 3.50 gear in the 9", I won't be changing that. I had 4.11's in there in the very beginning, couldn't do anything with those.
