Default How to Heat Up Nittos with M6?

I will be running some 16" nittos when I go to the track in a few weeks, and I know that in order for them to be effective I have to really heat them up......but with an m6 what is the best way to do this? Do I let the clutch out then slam on the brake and give it gas?? Please help so I can cut a 2.0 or better 60ft!
Thanks

You can try the heel and toe I think they call it where you give it gas and brake but it's real tough. Your best bet is to get a line lock and do a 2nd gear burnout. It'll heat them up real nice. The SLP kit is a little over $100 and works good for me.

just get them smokin and hold her there for 4-8seconds... the more the better. Just dont kill your clutch or anything. I like to smoke mine up to the tree also to KEEP them hot.

18-22PSI works best, but you may have to slip the clutch to get a good launch. I think some leave at about 2500 slippin the clutch. Im just a A4 so its simple for me

Best way with an M6, hold the clutch in,(side note:if you have traction control, make sure its off) throw the revs up to about 5K, dump the clutch, slam on the brakes, and mash the gas. They will start to smoke REAL nice. I usually give myself a 5 count and roll out. Leave around 2800 slipping the clutch and a 2.0 should be cake.

Exactly how I do my burnout! When I was stock w/ a lid and cutout I dumped it at 3500 and it dead hooked and bogged on me at HRP. I tried 4000 next pass and same thing, next try I did 4500 but the clutch stuck to the floor

Is the Burnout in 1st or 2nd Gear?

Definitly use first gear. Its easier on the clutch. What I did was, dump the clutch at around 3500rpms and floor it. Then get on the brake with your left foot. It doesnt take much brake to hold the car, too much and youll bog the motor. Try and hold the rpms around 5500 for about 5 seconds.

The tire will then be plenty sticky for 4000rpm launchs. Hopefully your clutch will take it. Mine didnt.

Also, I had better luck doing the burnout with dry tires. In the waterbox I had problems with the engine bouncin off the rev limiter and then bogging down after the tires heated up. It was harder to maintain a constant rpm.

btw I have a never used slp line lock for sale for $110. Its never been opend.

I disagree. If you dump it in first you're at the rev limiter real quick. Use 2nd gear and you have a longer window and don't need to worry about trying to shift or let off the gas.
