Default How can I only have a 1.83 60' not spinning with 3.73 and 3,000 stall

This is before I installed my ms4 cam, I went to the track had consistent 60's of 1.80s My mph was 85-87 my et was 8.07 to 8.15 everytime. How can people have lower 60's with the same power and sometime higher gears than me like 3.23s. Look at my sig for all my other mods, just take away the cam pushrods, springs, etc. that was my setup. Is there such thing as to much traction and bogging the car? It kinda felt like it was bogging my m/t were set around 13psi 82degrees outside mild to high humidity!

bogging an a4?
pulled the front sway bar?
sure you're not spinning?
raise your tire pressure until you don't bog, then adjust your rear shocks to 7 maybe and play with settings and air pressure until you plant

my h/c lt1 does 1.8s but I know it spins, my bolton lt1 did 1.6 and it rarely spun
have people watch your launches and let you know what they see, extra eyes are invaluable

Since LS1's peak torque comes in around 4500 I think you need a looser converter. I would run nothing less than a 4000. You may have needed a tune also.

+1.... 3000 rpm is a very low rpm stall even for a stock cam car. Heck I have a vig 3600 in my stock cam car. better change that stall out for sure now that you have an Ms4 in there.

The best 60's I could manage on my 4K stall with a stock motor was 1.65.. Since I added heads and cam and got it down to the 1.52's.. Added the 100 shot and so far on the one hit out of the hole has been a 1.45..

So, it could just be all that stall has or maybe it has not loosened up yet.

Not enough stall. I ran an ST3800 with a stock motor and 3.42 gears pulling consistant 1.6x sixties.

Thanks guys what do u guys usually footbrake it too? I've tried 1,500 to 2,500 no diffrence in 60' times.Since I've been to the track I've played with tire psi and my shock settings. It feels stronger out the hole now, but I do also have a cam now as well. If anybodys running m/t drag radials what do u run you psi at?

You definately need a higher stall. I run a 3200 Vigalante and It will murder a set of tires. I have a MS4 and 3.73s. I ran Royal Purple in it one time and it seemed to loosen up the convertor more than usual. Of course trial an error air pressure adjustments is the only way your ever going to it rite. Thats why God gave us Test and Tune Nite once a week.

That stall is kinda low but I still think you should do better than 1.8s. Hows your race weight? If your heavy that could be it.

I run 20-22 psi in my DRs (15"), used to run about 16 in the 275 40R17 BFGs.

You know... You don't always need to repalce parts to fix a problem.

If you dont want to DEAD hook?? change your psi till you don't...

if you do it from the start and have the pocket book for it.

but sometimes, just sometimes, you dont need to throw parts at it.
