I think that was kind of the point of setting up the original race. 2 late model quality cars goin at it. Not the normal junk you see on there every episode.

Correcto. And the BOC folk's 2000 Mustang effort ran out of money and sponsors and then it fell apart. Oh well, that was over 6 months ago. Let's have fun in '08 and do some racing.

The problem is you know you're gonna get sandbagged on pinks, they say show up with a 10.50 car and the other car is a 9.00 car.

They foot brake and run on the motor the 1st pass.

Then they spank your *** so you say ok we want 2 cars and take one stage off, keep in mind they haven't even sprayed it yet.

So you get an extra 2 cars, they spray it about the 1st 100 feet, then run it on the motor and keep ahead of you 1 car the whole time.

It's the last round before you lose your car and they want to make it "fair", so guess what the host thinks an even heads up motor to motor race is the fairest way to go.

You get spanked motor to motor and the guy beats you by 3 cars.

A few seconds later you get a hand shake and punked for your car

Great idea for a show, poor management, the people that were on the start of that show that were so called experienced street racers didn't even know how to drive their own cars, then they became "tech experts" and employed on the show and still had people sand bagging left and right.

Just glad you didn't race that car is too nice to get f-d out of it over a show that has it's head up its ***.

For what its worth I think PSJ and the gang did the right thing. No way I'd put my $30,000+ car up against a $5,000 POS. That's complete BS. Pinks and the mustang crew breached the contract, not PSJ.

To be fair Pewter, my Camaro is worth less than $20,000 I think, and the second opponent's car (replacement car) I have no idea though it did show up on Racing Junk for $6,200.

I understand but there is still a pretty big gap in the value. Plus you have to consider the sentimental value. I think your car is much more desireable than a beat up stang. Finally, as mentioned many times, the whole point of the race was to put a late model GM car up against a late model Ford car with latemodel parts and performance. I really don't see how anyone could disagree with your decision. Like I said, I think ya'll made the right call.

Well I just read all 33 pages of this ****, and figured out 1 thing. That is I was there for all this but left Sat. morning cause of the heat, But 1 things for sure, when that T-bird rolled out onto the track I laughed my *** off, untill I seen it leave, Dam that thing was "shitting and a getting" I was extreamly impressed, the stang was awsome fast also. Lost a bet in the final race, I bet on the stang. Stupid me. Oh as for Rich, let me tell ta this, hes a nobody from "Hickabilly New Hampton, Iowa" who was a average nobody, got a little fame and let it go to his head. Funny though how nobody has mentioned the big *** war that started between Rich and the spectators Friday night, when they were taunting him with the Vin Deisel comments, Dude he went off at those guys I was standing right next to them laughing my *** off, he got all bold telling them to shut up, let me run my show, If this dont end we are packing up and leaving etc, had the cops get involved and try to kick them out of the track, Next to the races that night is was the best part of going.

Also got to give props to the guys from Stangbangerz, SUPER nice guys, Bad *** turbo car, I talked with one of them for over half hour after the race, Congrates to them also.

I was in the stands Friday nite, I saw Rich get mad at some spectators. To be fair he's like any guy, nobody likes to get messed with.

Stangbangerz car and folks were nice, they raced to raise money for a family of a guy who had passed away.

I liked Rich when I talked to him, to be honest. I understand how he looks at stuff, he sees shows like this as trying to highlight competition. He used the word gladiator at one point, which was a cue to me that he tries to focus on how folks compete in the moment. I also liked Kale and the announcer guy Derek I think his name is.

So PSJ...when are you hopping back on the air with us?!

If anything comes down the pipe let us know! woop woop!

if I had to add a couple things about 'sites to race' I wouldn't really go with svtperformance...seems like a 'hangout' place...maybe modulardepot?

just my 2cents

2.21.08

Final post for this thread... Good o'l Pinkenstein is in the April 2008 issue of GM High-Tech Performance, a nice several page spread so I hear haven't gotten my copy yet. Thanks to the staff for this opportunity.

Pinky has led an interesting life, from being streetraced in Schaumburg in a profoundly gutted state, to getting built in 6 weeks for a tv show, to getting trailered down to KC for the race that never happened. Car later went to Memphis and raced at the first ever LSX Shootout and ended the year at GLD with a 10.9 motor pass and just missed hitting 9's with nitrous by just a smidge (10.008).

Look for Pinky in 2008 running the stock cube setup and the hope is to run a 10.5 NA with a few changes though no changes to the mill.

Thanks again to all that helped, sponsored, and have been around the project.
