Re: FIRST TIME TO THE TRACK
Yeah pull your back seats, spare tire and jack. Emptying your windshield wiper resevoir is good for a few pounds. With my stock tires I started out at 28 psi and I think when I started cutting 1.9 60's I was running around 24-26.
Good Luck.

Re: FIRST TIME TO THE TRACK
Get you an ASAP Pulley and port and polished TB. Recommend some drag radials such as Nitto's, adjustable shocks front and back just for starters. Happy motoring.

He means an ASP pulley. Porting/polishing the TB is a good idea. You'll pick up a few ponies there. Adjustable shocks are completely unnecessary until you get into the big horsepower range. I'm running mid 11's on complete stock suspension and street tires. As for tire pressure, air up the fronts to about 40psi and drop the rears in 2lb increments until you "hook". I found that my 16" GSC's hooked best at 23-24 cold psi. That's about 25-26 when they are hot. Drive around the water box. Do NOT go through it with street radials. Do a 2-3 second burnout to clean off the tires only. Don't bring the rpms up too much or your 60' will suffer. Powershift, hold on, and have fun!

Re: FIRST TIME TO THE TRACK
Oh yeah, defintely pull your spare tire and jack. A 1/4 tank of gas is cool, but I've found that 3/4 tank helps me hook better due to extra weight over the rear wheels. It's a tough trade off...an extra 150lbs for some traction. Draining the washer fluid was a good tip. Remove the front sway bar too if you want to get a little more hardcore. It's a piece of cake.

Re: FIRST TIME TO THE TRACK
Yea iI still cant belive you pulled it off. All this talk about how you wouldnt break into the 13's. And your still new at the whole M6 thing too. With more seat time im sure you can break into the 12's with the car the way it is now. Its a big step up from when you raced your bro and kept hitting the brake peadal on every shift. With a time like that, I will no longer bring that up anymore

My a4 stock ran a best of 13.24@104.85 with a 1.99 60ft.
Good job!! Nice .
