Default can i remove power steering without manual rack

Just want to know if i can remove the power steering without replacing the steering rack with a manual one.

I plan on getting a rack in the future, but for now just want to shed some weight.

yes. just cut the lines where they come into the rack right at the bends and then conect them with a rubber hose. (loop them)

i have always just left the holes open and never had an issue. but they say the rack can lock up if you do that

no the alternator is fine where it is. but if you want to run just the alternator and nothing else then you can buy the BMR race only alternator bracket and that gets rid of the tentioners and everything eles

let me know if you have any other questions

Our Project car runs a looped stock rack. It works but it does not steer as nice as a manual rack. I have a Madman manual rack on my turbo formy and love it.

I have a stock rack with the power steering gone. It is harder to turn of course, but it isn't that bad. Here is a thread with pictures of how I looped the stock rack (page 2) as well as the BMR bracket Tony mentioned. (Page 1) No need to move the alternator, just remove the top bolt so the belt doesn't hit it.

Here are the belt numbers:

Dayco Poly-Cog (STOCK): 5060525 {6PK1335}
ASP/SLP Underdrive: 5060510 {6PK1296}
