Thanks man, honestly the finish isn't as good as alot of the pro built cars out there but I can tell you this, I'd rather have a car that runs the number consistently and looks half *** vs one that looks like a show car that can't qualify in the top half of the field.

Hey Phil.. Dont know if you mentioned this before, but if youve got the car running well towards the end of next month, have you considered running Duck's Georgia race at SGMP? Ill be there, would love to check the car out if you make it down!

Very nice! And you did a great job on the doors, too. Were those a PITA to hang or did they go on easy?

I made a chromoly bracket that bolted to the body. I used a Jerry Bickel door mount kit and the body mounts come long so they just needed to be cut down so they fit. Once it the right length to fit to the body flange and in the door hinge I tack welded it with the MIG in 3 spots. repeated the process for the bottom. Once it was tack'd into place I pulled the door and ran the tig around the base.
At first I thought it was going to be a headache but was very easy.
Here is the kit I used....the top 4 hinges went on the door, the bottom tubes welded to the chassis

They were very easy. I used some wood window shims to get the door to sit right on the rocker panel, than shimmed it on the backside of the door so it was right front to back. I used green painters tape 2" wide to tape the door to the body so it stayed in place. I already had installed the hinges on the doors just needed to install the body mounts.

on a good note-we did unload the car and go a 4.98 at 160 off the trailer at only 32 lbs of boost.i believe we broke the block on this pass.We ended up with a 4.86 at 156 on our third pass with a miserable 1.29 60ft.The car worked good out of the box plus some of our other ideas seem like they are going to work well-so it wasn't a complete loss.

Damn, I hate hearing this. Been quietly following this build from day one and have thoroughly enjoyed the consistent progress. Like nearly all drag racers, I know the feeling of blowing a motor/cracking a block/throwing a rod/dropping a cylinder, etc. And it's NEVER fun. Hell, I had one that only lasted 13 passes once. I guess the only difference is that my motors were never on this scale.
At any rate, I know you guys will get this thing put back together one day soon and will be back to screaming down the track. So good luck with it Shawn and Phil. I think I can speak for most on here when I say we're pulling for you guys.
