Default MUST get into the high 6's in the 1/8!

What formula can you guys come up with to get me into the high 6sec range in the eighth mile? I have a few bolt ons and drag radials, 12bolt on the way. What do I need to do it? I must go 6.9x or better .

That was what I had in mind, I'm running 7.9's now with no weight reduction and soft launches(M6). I am thinking that a wet 125 NX would help my cause, but would that solve my problem?

The car must be light, and hit it with alot of juice.
You're talking about 10's in the 1/4 mile.

How will e.t. streets help, with a good snout full of nitrous? If not then what do I need? I want to own this Lt-1 car that runs 7.0's. I am blood thirsty over this guy!!!

you will need heads/cam and n20 to get those times consistenly. Then you have to look at the life of the block and internals. The car isnt gonna like alot of juice. Not many LS1's run 6's in the 1/8th so your have high goals. Im running 7.30 with bolt ons, 3600 stall, 224 cam, et streets and stock heads. Hopefully heads will get my 6.99-7.0's and 11.0's in the 1/4th. But 6's are 10's in the 1/4th.

i'd stop trying to beat that guy and make friends with him. Sound slike he has a nice car with some nice mods

What does a 7.003 equate to in the 1/4, is it still a 11.00 car?

7.05 is an 11.00 according to the 'standard' conversion.. 7.000 is a 10.92. Doesnt mean thats what the car WILL run but if you have a good 60' and arent insanely geared for the 1/8 its usually pretty close.

He can do it easily on the stock block with about a 175 shot (Wet) and light car with good drivetrain.

I am getting close to the 6's (7.1 1/8ths at almost 98mph spinning the slicks about 8-12 feet) ALL motor.

You will need Full slicks and gears, all bolts ons and a good clutch. If you are planning on spraying and keeping the motor stock I think a 4.33 gear with a 28x10 inch ET Drag slick, Good torque arm, airbag, all bolt ons and great driving would hit 6's in the 1/8th with a 175 shot. I would recommend swapping valvesprings/pushrods however.

Are you running 1/4 mile or 1/8th?

If you are only running 1/8th mile and nothing else go for 4.56 gears with the 28's, the mods I listed above, 175 shot with race gas and LS1 edit tuning and you should be close!

Cheers,
Chris

ps- I am shooting for 9's next year on the jug

Na, I will be making occasional trips to a 1/4mi track. I ordered my 12bolt with 4.10's. Also my car is stripper. What about doing a cam and changing the springs and retainers, not porting but milling the heads a couple thousandths? I'm not going to sacrifice alot of driveability, and the guy I want to beat is pretty cool, I talked to him last night, and even helped him work on his car. But yes I still want to go fast, we are having a fuel injected heads up race this weekend. I am trying to get ready for it. If any of you guys want to come to the
Winston County Dragstrip.

Thats not a hard time to acheive with a STOCK motor and some N2O. I run 6.8's consistantly with a STOCK 99 LS1 with grotts, PY3600E convertor, NX wet kit at 175, some suspension mods and sticky tires. This is with no weight reduction, no bolt on's other than the ones listed, stock computer and a stock fuel system. I pull 1.4 60's consistant and run 10.80's consistant. My car only runs 12.50 on the motor. Dyno results were 311rwhp on the motor and 462rwhp on the bottle. 3500lb raceweight

Since you got 4.10's, you will need 28" tires or need to grab 5th on the track...

I have a 7.002 slip and I went 11.02.

I think a 150 shot, on top of a NA car that runs mid to low 12's is doing in the right direction... If you were going 7.5 in the 1/8th right now that would help.

I know a guy out West who did a 175 wet, slicks, and a cam and went 11.0/7.1 in the 1/8th.

You will need about 450-460 rwhp, between 3200-3400 lbs raceweight, and a killer 60'.

My car went a 6.94 @ 99 on a 1.48 60' with only heads/cam and with a 3400 lbs raceweight. It is all in the first 60' man. Good luck on your quest.

I'm making the arrangements for the traction. O.K. then I have edelbrock lca's and relocation brackets on the way as well as an airbag. I will need some tires of course, but what else?

It is all in the first 60' man.
I couldn't agree more! Lower 60' times will do wonders for your times. My 10.59 pass was a 6.77@101.xx with a 1.43 60'.
