Mounting points for a 5 point harness???
I can get the side points in where the stock seatbelt holes are but I am wondering what you guys did for the crotch strap and the back points? Mine looks like it wraps around the bar but still needs to be attached at the back. I am going to get a crosspiece made up for the crotch strap but the back points I am thinking about mounting where the lower seats bolt in. Has anyone done this? Also 5 points are freaking heavy! I was amazed at how heavy they are!
Thanks
Chris
You can buy a bar that allows you to tie the crotch strap across the front two bolt holes in the stock seat location. If you bolt through the floor, then the strap has to be located as far to the rear of the seat as possible. I have mine bolted through the floor in line with my spine basically. It's done that way to help keep your hips back in the event of the unfortunate. Because there is no hole in the stock seat like a race seat, bolting to the front or rear of the seat will make no difference.
According to Simpson mounting them to the floor could cause your spine to go into compression in an accident.
Nineball I thought about the washers too. I think I will probably do that.
I am still confused about what to do about the back straps. The straps will be rolled around the bar if that makes sense. I will try and figure something out tonight..
Cheers

As far as the shoulder straps, if they loop around the bar you simply use the adjuster to hold it all together. Technically you have to have a small piece of metal welded to the bar to keep the straps aligned on the bar so they can't slide severely in the event of an accident.
If your straps have the small triangle piece with a hole in it then you have the bolt in style. If you look at my cage, they actually cut a hole vertically through the cross bar and then inserted a 1/2" ID pipe into the cross bar and welded that in place. Then you simply slip a 1/2" grade 8 bolt through the cross bar to bolt it in.
If that's the style you have and you don't have a hole in the cross bar, simply remove the small harness bracket from the straps. Wrap the strap around the bar and then loop the end through the adjuster. You should have the loose end on the top side of the adjuster so that you can then fish the end back up through the top portion of the adjuster (figure 8 move). It's kind of hard to explain, but you can shop around the web for some photos of this setup. Or send me a quick message with your number and I can talk you through it.
