We have it a few ways. on the front we used 2"X2" tube with 2 bolt holes drilled thru. its the stock used to make trailor hitches and is 10lbs per ' so we have a 3' piece hanging of the crash bar out front with 2 role bar style clamps and a 2nd 2" pece on the inside. if we need more weight I will box it in and lead shot it. in the back i used an old curl bar with screw on locks cut the end off and welded it to a plate and then to the frame. we can put what ever is required to get the rear even due to driver offset. right now its like 50lbs or so on there. this off season we are going to do ballast hangers under the car for safty and center of gravity reasons.

What we have found is weight in the rear should be over the axle or if you can get the car right just in front. if its back by the bumper it will work against you on wheelies... if your near weight or over but need wheelie control hang it as far forward as possible.

How much could you gain on very bad track with the added weight? I spin through 1st and 2nd gear on my track with merely 400-450whp
your suspention is wrong. Guys are hooking 1.15 60's on 28" drag radials. so 450 is easy. you just need to set the suspention, gear ,tire etc up correctly.

I will repeat - track is terrible here. You just can't understand how bad. Guys running 5.4 elsewhere only run 6.3 at this track. It's much worse than your average street asphalt - here asphalt is some 40 years old, it is very uneven with tiny stone chips on the surface. Tire just can't make it to the asphalt to make some contact. 700hp 4WD cars are spinning all 4 tires.
I actually don't know if it's possible at all to hook on this track, sometimes I loose hope. Thought about adding weight as far to the rear as possible...

The weight bar is lead filled (135 lbs).

The box weighs 30 lbs and has about 75 lbs of lead inside.

Thanx! So your car is faster with 240lbs of ballast? Or is it just a requirement to pass?

What do you think of placing ballast on some rails like 4-5 feet behind the car? if it is legal of course
