If the weather is decent, I'll be at the Motorplex on a couple of Saturdays in February when they are open. I have not run my car hard in the quarter for a LONG time...last time was last summer for some hot weather, pump gas, off idle, license renewal runs (9.8's). Based on my latest 1/8-th mile times, it should be in the 9.30's. We'll see.
Good luck to all this year. Take care. Dave

I went 9.8s footbraking (maybe 2500 rpms), I have transbrake, with a converter that was built for my cam only motor, not even close to where I should be on my 60 ft., short shifting the 1 to 2, and standing on the brakes just before the 1000 ft. mark. I went 6.1 in the 1/8th with the above was sub par. The good weather has yet to come.

RUQWIKR:
What does your setup consist of? I will be pushing for the title this year as well with my 427 L92. Really expecting high 9's, but you never know.

With the airbox and my little MAC headers and 2.5" mufflers, it made 644 hp and 575 ft-lbs. I now have Kook's stepped headers (1-7/8"-to-2") with 3.5" mufflers, and the car picked up about 0.06-0.08 in the 1/8-th and about 1 mph...still impressive what my little port-matched small MAC's did. Stock ECM.
Good luck to all. Take care. Dave

RUQWIKR, damn dude, you're setup is even "milder" than mine. You have more cubes than I do and made more power. Are those engine hp numbers or dyno hp numbers?
416 ci., 13.5:1, GM casting heads, Beck sheet metal intake, Morel lifters, stock rockers w/Harland Sharp mod, VP C12 racing fuel, speed density tune, Kooks 1 7/8" x 2" x 3 1/2" headers, 254/260 .650/.650, etc. I used to cut mid to high 1.3s with my cam only motor, but have only manage a 1.39 60 ft. as I don't have the new setup dialed in yet. I should be cutting low 1.3s high 1.2s. What tires are you running (size/brand)? Gear ratio?

Luis Castellanos, I'm not out to break records. We didn't build a car to internet race. I was just CURIOUS as to how fast the fastest hydraulic naturally aspirated F-body was. You guys put too much thought into this. It's not like a get a trophy, gold medal, or money for having the record.
Basically I just want to know if my car is running the numbers that it should. It's just a comparison dudes, geez.

Once you work out the bugs in your launch, etc., I would think you could run in the 9.2-9.4 range in decent weather. Try leaving much softer, just above idle, and see what happens.
Tires are 30x9 Hoosier radial slicks (29.5 version not the 29.9 version)...I also have a set of their 10.5 versions, but they are only 1-inch wider of a footprint when both on a 10" rim. The picture above and in the signature was from 1/13 on the 9" tires. I think you have very comparable power +/- as I run 112-114 there depending on the air which is what you are. DA has always been above sea level.
What is your raceweight and have you verified it on good scales (I've got access to four-pad race scales)?
I am 210 with my helmet and firesuit on. I want to get it down a bit, but my cage has two extra bars behind the dash, my wiring harness is still all there, I have extra rocker bar, second seat in, stock console, and so on. I personally love how the car looks, though, some weight could be saved by gutting it further.
Take care. Dave

Oh ok, because I was thinking to myself, no way he made that much power on the dyno through an automatic, haha.
I don't have solid numbers on the dyno yet. Hopefully soon.
I'm running L92/LS3 heads that have been reworked by Greg Good.
I hope to be in that range of ET. I've set my goal at 9.40.
When you cut the 1.20s, are you transbrake or footbrake? What are you stalling it up to?
I'm running the Hoosier 30x10.5x15 CO6 Radial Slick and I can't seem to get it to hook.![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)
What's your race weight? Shock settings? Tire pressure?

If I was going max-out on a hydraulic combo, I'd not run my old-school heads or intake, jack the compression to 17:1, and so on. These times are just for yacking on the net...I am SURE there are faster combos out there, either members of this board or not.
I remember running some of my old cars at Amarillo and Denver and was amazed at how big the change in ET / mph actually was. You knew it was going to slow down a bunch, but until you felt it...

Front shocks on FULL firm...rears on 3 LH, 6 RH, & 22 psi in RH air bag. As per earlier posts, 3130# avg raceweight verified. Tire pressures with the Hoosiers start at 18 psi cold and go UP as far as I can depending on how the track is. I have run as high as 28 psi!!!...usually 20 psi warm.
Footbrake is just above idle, with 2-step at 2000-2200 rpm on the radials, 3000-3200 rpm on the 28 W's if leaving on the transbrake...they ball up more and don't pull the front end up as much or rapidly as the radials.
Try leaving easy as once the radials unhook, you're done.
What's your raceweight?

Yep...hollow Hotchkiss rear.
Here's a vid of my slowest full run from a few weeks ago at my local 1/8th-mile track. I went 5.99, 6.00, 6.01, 6.04, 6.06, and three aborted (two spins and one hooked right due to wheelie bar set up). The 6.01, 6.04, and 6.06 were hot lapped all within 4 minutes! Only the latter got caught on video tape as my friend was taking stills of me.
http://media.putfile.com/DW-Firebird...Redline-011308
Launch was 2200 off the brake (the other guy was a LOUD nitrous big block), but you can here me spinning when it hit the bars hard even with the shocks on full firm. If I can, before the next time out, I am going to put some travel limiters on the front. Short time was 1.291, though, I came down right in the beams, so, probably a bit better as the 6.01 was a 1.27 landing in the beams, but I think the 6.04 showed a 1.33 or 1.35 coming down past the beams.
