Like I said, if it makes you happy ....do it. We did a lot of study on developing a rear bumper cover that closed off the bottom of the car to the rear axle housing.
We learned that it wasn't worth the DZus fasteners to hold it in place.

Have a great day!

Guys, listen to ROBIN L. Trust me, he knows what he is talking about. Comparing sticking your hand out the window to what happens under the car is two different things. At 150 mph, the best thing you can do is lower the car and improve things on the top of the car. You are not going fast enough to make a difference under the car. You might improve things, but it will be so small, you won't be able to measure it on the drag strip.

Here is an example of information gained from the wind tunnel. This particular car has NOT been tested in the wind tunnel. But the information gained has been applied. Still that is no guaranteee that it is effective.

If you notice the rear wing is curved. The reason is that the air that passes over the roof tends to drop down further than the air that passes the sail panels. As the air passes the sail panels it wants to turn or twist as it hits the wing sooner than the air that come over the roof. For that reason the sides are shorter because they don't need to be as long. Remember on a slow car like this the wing is there to kill lift. On a much faster car they actually are looking for downforce. The wing makes the car look longer and more stable as it cuts through the air.
We want to eliminate the lift without creating drag. Unlike a top fuel or funny car we can't afford to give up any areo horsepower.
