I would! I run 13.5 psi in mine and they wrinkle quite a bit.

run them w/o screws 1st and mark them to see how much the rim turns in the tire.
If it's not that much and the car is 60'ing the way you want then leave it.
I have a feeling you will wind up screwing them but try it 1st.

It does have to do with power levels, but also has to do with how low you plan on running the air pressure in the tires. Anything below about 12lbs should be screwed to the wheels. Otherwise, dont ruin a set of wheels if its not needed!

At that power level on the bottle, screws would be a good idea. If you will run PSI below 15 thay may be needed. The screws willl also help with how the tire wrinkles at the hit.

I'd say no based on the power levels. Once screwed you'd likely be running tubes and that's additional weight. As mentioned above mark them first and see if they move much. It depends on the pressure settings as well as the rim and brand of tire. I've seen 7 second drag radial cars without screws and some with. My Nova has cut a 1.46 60 foot at 14 psi on a 28 x 10.5 slick without screws and they didn't move.

Screw them and be done with it. Just make sure that the screws you get won't go all the way thru the bead into the center of the tire, fle them down a touch if need be. This, plus a dab of silicone when ya put the screws in should stop them from leaking.

I also think it is how hard your convertor hits! My car with the old 92K mile engine at 350 HP TQ at the wheels spun the old 26X11.5X15 ET Streets on my Weld wheels and only ran 7.50's NA in the 1/8! Each time out the tire would move on the rim about a 1/2 inch. The tires were installed dry and tubless.

I would do what JL suggested and run them tubless! I have several friends running the tires screwed on the rims with no tubes. One of my friends runs 9.90's in a C5 NA with no tubes with no leaking problems. I run tubes but plan to try the next set of slicks with out them.

Good Luck!
