Default Questions about Strange/Aerospace brakes

I have seen a number of people convert to Strange/Aerospace brakes. Most obvious reason for weight savings. What are other pros/cons to these brakes? Can they be driven on the street? I would assume no autoX or anything of the such. Can you still use stock rims/tires (17") with these? Thanks

If you use the strange drag brakes they are not very street friendly. You are pretty much stuck with a drag wheel too. I do street drive mine but I don't cruise the highway, just around town. I warped a set of rotors pretty bad last summer.

Strange and Aerospace both have street / strip brakes. These brakes are lighter then the stock brakes. Check into them!

I have the Aerospace front drag set and they seem to be working great! Their phone number is 727-347-9915. The streeet rotors are bigger and even slotted as well as drilled. They are also more money.

I have had the aerospace race brakes on the front of mine (strange rear) for three years now both street driving and stopping many many times at 145+ at the track and I have never had any issues with them. except they smell like a burny clutch at times after a 150 stop. Had to replace the pads last year but I just slid a new set in and thats was that.

You can run stock wheels but the heavier the car the more issues you will possibly have. Plus these really need to be looked at on a regular basis for things cracking and coming loose if the car was street driven a lot. What kills them is hard multiple stops, but if you are aware these are on the car and are careful you should be ok. If you are one of those people that races stoplight to stoplight and need two feet on the brake pedal to stop frequently they arent for you.

Thats my opinion as a guy on the internet. But as a person who has worked on cars for a living for many years I would never put these on a customer's car that I knew would be street driven..

The street/strip version uses a vented rotor, its heaver and is better at handling mutiple hard stops.

Thanks for the input KP. I do not daily drive the car by any means... I only put about 2500 miles on it per year. I am looking for something to drop a lot of weight and I think drag brakes may be the ticket...

Drag brakes save a lot of rotating weight, drag way less than stock and you can use any kind of wheels you want. Hard to go wrong with them really. As long as you know they will fade away pretty quick if you really get them hot and drive accordingly, no different then driving around with slinney front tires really..

As stated above the street strip version has a vented rotor. It is still a good bit of weight savings but not as much as a full drag brake. Th downside to a full drag brake on the street is fade and rotor warp. If you will street drive the vented rotor setup is better.

We have great prices on Aerospace brakes and all of the hardware needed to make them work. PM me for pricing.

We have sold a lot of Aerospace brakes. We have yet to have a problem.

Both are high quality parts. Aerospace tends to cost less. Also, I can not find the Strange listing for a street version.

Steve, can you PM me with the weight of the front and rear Aerospace Pro Street Brake kits if known? Also, do you offer AARP discount or a packaged deal if I were to buy both kits? And how much is shipping? I assume (me being in Florida) buying them from your website saves tax. Would that be correct?

Burkhart Chassis is where I bought my Aerospace brakes at, a good company to deal with! And a good price as well.
