and what might this arguement be about? Hopefully not another mustang vs.f-body debate. To answer your question, I am not exactly sure, so I will let others answer that.

The quickest 1/4 mile is held by Wheel to Wheel powertrain with a 6.86 I think.

Actually if you count the mod motor starting production in the mustang in 1996 the fastest time for a mod motor (stock displacement, stock production heads and block) is 6.35@222. The guys name is John Mihovitz. http://accufabracing.com/

Just show them the cam-only list and ask if they can replicate such a well stacked list. H/C/I vs. H/C/I, mod motor vs. LS1... they are about on the same level. I think that the LS1 has a slight edge on that a well as far as having close to stock cubes. There is no doubt that there are some bad-*** SBF's out there, and the mod-motor is one of the best. Also, Mustang has a great chassis design and the ability to spin more useful power in higher RPM's which equals a great combo. Take a look at other racing types besides just drag racing and see how the 2 compare.

Good post guys, personally I like the design of the LSX engine the most of all engines, SBC included, I agree on the cam only stuff as well as the fact that they've only has 40 years to perfect the SBF not including the Mod. Any way, it all turns in to a big puddle of urine by the end of the day, you guys know what I mean.

would you like to tell them about bolt-on times as well? What about n/a times on stock cubes. IMO, mod for mod, its up to the drivers. No sence on starting this debate all over agian and possibly get some people fired up. If the mustang guys have something to prove then whatever. Everyone knows LSX is gods gift to humans... LOL, isn't that right Mark? (JFWY btw, lets hope shalom doesn't see this, or he may just be switching his motor over)
BigBronco- I walked past the pit of that HS car in your sig at NMRA. I was looking for you but didn't see you there. Did you go?

I will admit though, I had more fun at NMRA then I have at any super chevy or NMCA. I didn't reconize bigbronco's car, but after stating it wasdown at NMRA, I do remember seing it now. I think this thread needs to be re-named to keep anyone from coming in here and bashing. Vicious - we are all enthusist, you should be happy that the mustang is pretty much our only comp. Be safe and finish your own arguement on the track.
Also, fron rumors that I have heard, there has been a couple P/S car that have ran an elusive 9 here and there. I believe Alsept and Vic Downes have both broke 9's, but do not quote me on that.
I will also agree with Mark on the n/a going to the cubes. Start getting into turbo's, and it is awhole new ball game, those Mod motors love boost.
Mark - why not share a little info about your car. From what I know it is pretty heavy and has ran some good times with just bolt-ons.

Oh I'll agree with the bolt-on times going to the LS1. Cubes rule the N/A world plain and simple. Fastest bolt-on mod motor (4.6) only went 11.16 (5 speed car). So its a bit off from the 10.65 SI LS1 car. Fastest N/A mod motor on stock cubes (4.6) is probably a PS car. I think it was Brandon Aslept that did it this past weekend at NMRA. I want to say 10.16.

No I was not. This is going to be the first year of me not running with the time. I have other engagements this season.
The car had a ROUGH week before the race. Had a spur of bad luck before and almost did not make it.
