on the headers here is the only two options i would take.

1. buy a cheap set of 2455 hooker headers and modify them.
or
2. let a fabricator make a nice set and make them every tube seperate and have them exit though the front quarter panel

Little by little I'm getting it done. Luckily between two projects I'm staying pretty busy and can bounce back and forth between them and don't sweat the little stuff. A few more pics of progress.

Not soon enough

Seriously though, there is quite a bit of small stuff to do that I just lost interest in. I need to finish up the fuel system, wiring, drilling valve covers for oil fill and breathers, drilling elbow for MAP and brake booster, hooking up hydraulic clutch linkage, plugs and wires and brake lines. I'm sure there is more stuff there I just can't think of it right now.

If it were ever going to warm up around here I would work on it more, but today it started out 65 and raining and now it's 30 something with 30+ mph wind gusts. Weather in D/FW has been crazy lately.

I'm reviving this because I'm wondering what oil pan you are running? I saw a couple other people mention theirs, but I noticed yours looked like it has some work done to it.

Sorry, been trying to sell my current daily driver so I can buy a G8 so my projects have been on hold and I'm not visiting the Drag section that much anymore. I'm running a Champ pan. They make some great pans for the money. Can't remember the part# off the top of my head though.

Ignition is a crank trigger and MSD dist. set up for a cam signal. BS3 also requires the use of a box so that's why I have that.

Edit: Figured I would add that you have to cut the cowl pan and actuate the wipers so the arm is vertical so you have enough room to slide the dist. straight down.

Figured I would drop in for an update.

The car is very close to starting. I've got all the powertrain wiring done (fuel pumps, fans, w/p, BS3, ignition box, alt, starter, etc.) and I was able to finally get the rotor phasing done on the cam sync last night. I need to get spark plugs and cut a set of custom wires, check fluids and then see if she'll start. Hopefully all this will be done by the end of August and she'll be getting the final touches at a local shop.

Displacement is 555"

Not sure how much invested, but I started from scratch so investment includes the purchase of the car (roller), trans, complete engine and suspension needed for the swap, plus the other stuff needed to get it to run like BS3, MSD box, electric w/p, alt, distributor, Painless relay kits and misc. wiring accessories. If I had to guess it's in the $10-12K range.

I almost got talked out of it myself, but I'm doing it, got parts on order but I am adding an F3 to it.

Nice build you got there, hope it to see it up and running soon.

Is there a shorter valve cover than that? I'm doing a tall deck and want to make sure it fits under the cowl. I guess custom headers are mandatory for me as well and probably have to do a jessel belt drive and front distributor to make it all fit.

make sure and drop the motor down a bit... my valve covers are no where near the cowl... and yes for that a custom set of headers is mandatory since it will be around 2.25 primaries... make sure you can take them apart and i'd have them exit through the front quarter to help with clearance.

What size engine do you plan on running if it is a tall deck? Like a 572 or 632 or something?

I am not at either of those sizes, but I can tell you that unless the car is backhalfed, you will have a hard time hooking on marginal tracks without a Procharger, let alone with one. Also, if you are not running a large tire, plan on changing them regularly.

Do you have any pictures of custom hedders for a BBC in an 4th gen F-Body?
