Cool, so I should be good with what i'm thinkin then, my hood actually isn't flimsy, I was surprised cuz my 2" cowl vfn is super flimsy!

Little update, got the new nose clip and hood on and she looks ****** sweet, also ordering the headers this week and might be ordering the throttle body this week as well! My buddy Steve put the hood on for me and did an awesome job, I probably would've botched it had I attempted it myself, he's got a very steady hand and is very precise with a diamond wheel!

Thanks man, i'll take a few pics of the mounting brackets when I get a chance and put them up. I have to buy a new top dash piece, mine was all cracked and destroyed, but it's not a necessity, so i'll get it when I get a chance, it has to be notched around the front down bars to fit.

I hope you didnt rivet the tabs on. If so use 10x32 bolts with nuts and washers. The rivets will pull thru.

Get her done and go race@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we did rivet them, do you think it'll be a problem, we also used self tappers on some, cuz we couldn't fit the rivet gun (the two by the windshield), it seems really sturdy! The nose was another story though, that **** was some real soft plastic and everything was just pulling right through, so I know you guys are gonna laugh, but I put drywall anchors in it and screwed the mounts to that and it's stiff as hell!

No I am just ******* with you.

Hell yes I am serious. I have seen many a hood come off from rivets. Usually after paint.

****! Ok, guess i'll see what I can do, didn't think you could get behind the little ledges that they're mounted to to be able to use a nut and bolt?

Hey Brian, is this better?

I used 2 10/32 bolts with a washer on the outside and inside and a nut on each of the 5 mounting tabs going up each side, couldn't get behind the spot in the nose where they were to change how those were mounted, so those are still in there with drywall anchors and screws.

Thanks dude! Only changes to the setup are that I bumped the compression up half a point from 11.3:1 to 11.8:1 (had to mill the heads when they were gettin fixed, so I figured i'd get up close to 12:1, figure I should still be able to run 93 there on motor), and put the gmpp intake on with an accufab throttle body and 1-7/8" headers, that's about it, other than adding a little more clearance in for a bigger shot, gonna bump to 400 this go round. It's still a 374 cube motor, still using my original block.
