If you buy a Braille, you are throwing money away because they are identical in every way to the Deka brand battery. Same manufacturer sold under different badges think Lexus and Toyota but no functional differences. Do a search on this forum or through google, I posted links to all the research showing they are identical batteries.

Not sure, but I would imagine not very long.

I saw your posts but I am not convinced. They do look similar though.

Did I mention this is for a DD? I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot for getting a pin on hood and a weak battery.

But then again a mod is a mod!

On a side note my VFN pin on was ordered today. 6 week wait!

I cant wait to see how she handles once all that front weight is gone!
6 weeks for them would be a miracle.
They told me 6 weeks and it took 10 weeks.

Thanks alot!!!

I just want it now! I Keep thinking about it.

BTW I got the regular stock pin on, nothing wild like a cowl, SS or sunco style.

My car is not a sleeper but Id like for it to look like it was stock from the factory. Im more into less is more.

Although the hood pins will be red flags!!

I have the Braille 11.5lb Carbon Fiber Battery in Mine. (Carbon fiber battery is if you have it under the hood-helps with the temps) Had it in there for WAY Over a Year with no problems, and Oh yea it's a Fully Loaded daily driver. Their 17lb battery was one of my ideas (Glad a few of you like it) And as for the Braille being a Deka battery (Ummm No) Braille also has a few more batteries coming out soon.

Guys I tried the ETX16.

I couldnt find the terminal adapters for those little batteries so I just used the supplied screws.

It cranked the car fine, but............ big but.

Since the terminals are so small i guess they werent making enough contact and it got hot.

Nonetheless the battery crapped out when the fans kicked on, the A/C would do the same.

I thought bout it twice. Having an undependable setup for a DD.

I took it back. 10lbs was not worth being stranded somewhere.

On a side note my hood was delivered from VFN in 2 weeks.YES!!!!!!!!!
Its already installed, however no Pics until its all painted.

Im getting my front bumper cover painted too, and want to polish the headlights.

I will get you guys pics soon.

ANy of you know where to get some nice stainless steel rings? The pin kit I bought had some super cheap thin ones, they look like they will rust. I want some stainless steel ones.

I installed the etx 14 from oreilly, just ask for an etx 14....I would know I worked there lol. I haven't had any issues. I made up my own bolts/washers to utilize the stock battery cables per dloves suggestion. I daily drive my car and it hasn't failed to start even when it is like 15 degrees out. I have had NO ISSUES AT ALL with this battery as of yet, and I foresee none in the future, for me at least, this battery has worked great. Super cheap too. Just go to your local oreillys, pay like 60 bucks and you have a 12 pound battery.

The etx14/16 battery works perfect AS LONG AS YOU DONT LET IT DIE. If you kill the battery even once, It will be dead. It kills a cell and wont hold a charge.

You kill the battery if you leave something on like the radio, fans, etc.

The threads are metric threads. I just use some extra coil pack bolts with a few washers to space the cable cover away so it doesnt bind up next to the battery. It makes since once you bolt it up.

I just purchased a battery from Walmart a little bit ago and wanted to add some information for the people looking this up as research thinking about running a smaller battery.

45 lbs - My Battery (1000/850 cranking amps!! LOL)
12 lbs - Battery Relocation Box (Plastic), and cables

16 lbs - 16 lbs Battery from Walmart

41 lbs REMOVED!!!

This mod wil go nice along with my HVAC delete (30+ lbs), carpet removal (30+ lbs), VFN Sunoco Pin On Hood (30+ lbs), lightweight front runners (20.2 lbs), rear bumper removal (22 lbs), etc. I will have a thread up soon with all of my progress!
