I'm not sure that I follow what you did, do you have pics? I don't want to comment without understanding what the difference is. As far as the 90 degree turn deal, yeah the air would be coming more directly into the opening, but it'd still have to make a turn when it comes to the rest of the intake. I think it would all come out in the wash.
Nope. I daily drive this car in Montgomery Alabama, with a 105* heat index most every day. Haven't seen the temp pass 195 yet, and I haven't even switched out the coolant to my normal summer mix yet (30% coolant/70% water w/Water Wetter) it's still the 50/50 Dexcool mix.
If you think about it, there's tons of stuff in the way stock. The condenser, plastic shrouding, there's not really that big of a difference with this in the way.

I was just thinking of making an elbow sorta to see if there is a difference if flow with it being boxed and facing the air . Only thing about this is I am afraid of it blowing off or bending at high speeds . Then again that sounds like a way it would for sure get air if it can show force like that . When I make the elbow I will post pics unless it looks too rice , who knows .

So I just kind of skimmed through this thread...so if this has already been asked sorry...
But...it looks to block a good part of the radiator...is there any ill effects from this?

You can make it work with the LT1, but it's a lot more work to do, as you have to convert to a LS1 airlid setup at the same time.
Here's where a friend of mine did the airlid setup.

You'd have to figure out the ram-air yourself, and it'd be slightly different from the one I did.
