Dual 4" oval exhaust pics
Hey guys. I posted in the LT1 section but i figured it'd also be appreciated here... I just recently got my project finished and running/dynoed.... I dynoed with collector bullets but wanted a truely full exhaust system. We had 3.5" collectors and stepped the collectors up to a full 4" dual exhaust system. We didn't have the ground clearance for round so we went with Spintech's oval 4" tubing.... It was pricey but overall the system came out top notch. Ground clearance is still very good (bottom of mufflers are about equal with the BMR crossmember that the TA is attached to). We had to do some "modifications" to the kenny brown double diamond subframes but oh well... And the sound is OUTRAGEOUS..... hope you enjoy the setup.
Engine is a 383 half filled LT1, 12:1 compression nitrous motor with 227's, oliver rods, lunati crank. trying to run 9's on motor and 8's on spray....
Enjoy!

Sounds great man. I just did something similar, I was gonna go with the spintech stuff, but after we held some 3.5 inch pipe up under the car, I ended up going with 3.5 inch piping to a set of flowmaser super 44 mufflers. We cut the ends of the mufflers off at the cone where they were 3.5 inches, in diameter, welded them on and then put some extension on after that to run back to the rear tires like you did.
I can't believe how quiet it actually is, those super 44's are pretty suiet mufflers actually. And with the case only being 4 inches thick, the exhaust tucked up better then I thought it would. Worked out pretty good, it's by far the quietest setup I've had on the car since the LM replaced the stock muffler in 2002 I think LOL
As for the solid mounted exhaust, I was a little skeptical at first, but then again, I just put a motor plate in the car, so it's not like the exhaust is gona transfer any noise to the car that the plate won't. PLus with the exhaust and motor now mounted solid I could get away with alot less clearance then normally required, making a 3.5 inch system actually tuck up pretty good, at least for one of these cars with the goofy *** floorpan we have.
When you gonna make some runs with that thing, dying to see what the nitrous lt1's got

Yeah the solid mount doesn't seem to transfer any more vibration that the engine and huge cam ain't already putting thru my chest.... The car isn't obnoxiously loud... I think it's just right. With open headers and bullets the car was aggravating loud...
We looked at super 44's as well but decided on the spintech's on the recommendation of a few race shops that are local....
I'm tryin to get the car to the track in the next few weeks. We've got one other issue that requires looking at but at most it's a 6-8 hour job.... i've just got to get time to put the car on a lift and take care of it...
