you have to shave a lil bit underneath the upper console if i remember right. there is a rib, or just some extra plastic that needs dremeling out of the way.
the shifter frame itself, i cut the entire front half off at a 45 so it would clear the front portion of the console. there was also a tab cut off, which i think was a brace to screw the plastic console to it comes with. i broke my last saw blade so i just bent it over.
looking back, i might have been able to shim up the back to keep the front at a lower angle, but im not sure how that would work out. its an idea to keep from cutting up your shifter.
ive had it in the car for 5-6 years now and it works great. not till about 6 months ago you get a lil rattle out of the shifter when you are idling at the redlight. this is usually after ive been to the track and things have been tweaked. haha.
the easy part is getting a shift **** on the stick.
i cut the a stock 6 speed stick and welded on a flat bracket with 2 holes drilled.
next i marked and cut off the stick on the ratchet shifter, drilling holes in what was left to mate up to the bracket i made
its held together with 2 grade 8 1/4 bolts and locknuts. works like a champ.
it sounds all hacked up, but works and looks great.
if you have imagination, you can do it.

I just took the shifter out and used adie grinder and a file to move the notch back on OD to D. When I pull into the box I pull it down and it goes to 2nd. I do the burn out and then push it forward to 1st. then when I launch the car when it comes time for 2nd I just pull back quick and by the time you get to third it is easy to remember to push the button and pull back again
I will try to shoot some pics later. car is in storage right now.

Which one are you running? I don't really see that large of a difference between the three other than price. I noticed the first one has the capacity for an air shifter.
Which one are you running? I think it's the kwik shift II judging by the name of your picture? How exactly does it work. I was reading the instructions and it kind of confused me with pulling the lever and pushing the button.

B & M Pro Ratchet in my Nova. Best 3 speed shifter IMHO, you can't miss a gear!
A buddy has one in his '95 Formula console, I'll try to snag a picture and post up.
