Default When Braket Racing do you like to chase down or be chased?

Just like the title says.

I love to chase down the other car.

I know sometimes you get sicked out waiting on the line for awhile if you race a much slower car but I love it. I ran a car when I dialed in a 12.59 he dialed in a 15.30. I didnt care to much about his time I just stared at the bottom light and went no problem. I was off on my dial but passed him just before the finish line an beat him by 24 thousands of a second.

I like to chase because he could always redlight before I see green.I also find it easier to judge the line when looking in front of you instead of looking behind you.

I bracket race at Rt. 66 on the weekends. At first, I wanted to do the chasing. After the first couple weeks, it doesn't bother me to do either. I concentrate on cutting a good light.

It doesn't bother me to do either. It's fun to try to push someone through the lights and make 'em break out. What really sucks is when they dial a 17.00 and run 17.008

I'd rather be chased or run heads up, bracket racing is abotu 2 thigns, knowing exactly what your car is gonna run, and leaving off the tree.

If you cut a killer lite and leave first, then the other guy has to chase you down, which means he has to to as good or better then you did on the tree, catch you and not go too fast in the process.

Or leave together, tree the **** out of the other guy and do the same, make him try to come around you... chances are if you put a close enough dial in on the window and cut a really good lite he's either not gonna catch ya or if he does, he's breaking out to do it

Heads up is awesome, but there aren't any classes up here to really compete in with my limited budget. I'm in between 2 classes right now with super ET and modified ET, which really sucks. Like JL said, it all comes down to the tree and a good dial in the end.

Chase. It's got to the point where I bag about 4 hundredths on a slow car and I'll run them down, go about half throttle and ride beside them. I can take the stripe by a pretty short amount. I don't mind being chased, I like it in the right lane... I've got a pretty solid blind spot when I'm in the left lane.

The other night I ran a guy who's one of the best around... We were both bagging, close on the tree. Everyone could hear us both lifting on each other. I killed .02 and broke out by .007, he runs dead on. He has a dragster with mufflers so he could hear me going at it . We've run each other probably 10 times, if you don't have a ~.015 package or better you're done. One time I was .001 and dead on with a 2, he was .004 and dead on with a 3 lol.

Personally id rather chase as long as I don't get anxious at the light waiting. Heads up racing turns into whoever has the biggest wallet wins. Outlaw classes turns into whoever has the biggest dump truck full of money wins. Us limited budget guys stick to bracket racing with $100 prize and a free pizza for winning.

Not sure what your track has going on, but there is a potential $2200 payout in Pro in the Moser Super Series that we run @ Norwalk/Summit Motorsports Park.

Its $1100 + contingency and there are 12 races a year. Now in street and sportsman classes the payouts are much less.

I like to run my own race as said before. Sometimes it is hard. Especially lately with the weather changing every 5 minutes. We only get 2 -3 time trials before elims so it is a little frustrating trying to dial my car.

There are advantages to chasing and being chased.... just have to know when and how to play with the pedal if you have to.

The thrill of catching someone right before the finish line is undiscribable! I always like chasing better, it just seems so much more exciting, plus it means you have the faster car.

Agreed. Plus if you slaughter them on the tree and catch them in a hurry it's always nice because you know the win light will be coming on.

Exactly, that was like the race I described. Won by .024 of a second. I passed him litterly right at the line. I didnt think I had him then the win light came on.
