More pics. The interior is all buttoned up and vacuumed out. Gauges all mounted up - oil, water, volts, A/F, tach. Switches all done. About to put it up for the next two weeks while I'm at work. Just as soon as I'm back I'll line up paint for the hood and take it to the track for test runs. I can't wait to see how it does. I've still got some idling issues. When I shift into gear from idle it get way rich and tries to load up... you can baby thru it with some throttle but that bugs me. I played with the timing and idle mixture and it got a little better so prob just a little more fine tuning there. I'm gonna post up a thread asking for ideas.

Well... the jury is in. I had alot of trouble getting the car to idle in gear. Took the converter out and sent it to Precision Ind. The clutches in the conv were burnt completely. Jack said it could have contributed to my new tranny being burnt up as well... very frustrated was I. So, paid PI to fix the converter(225), paid the tranny builder to rebuild the tranny w/ kit(600), and originally bought the converter for 400. So basically I've got about 1200 tied up in this converter... better be worth it. THe guy I bought it from said it was like new - I got screwed. Anyways.........................
Took the car to my buddies exhaust shop and got the flowmaster single chambered mufflers mounted up. Car sounds awsome. Took it out on the road for a few miles. Car drives awsome. Ready to take her to the track. If not this weekend, I'll definately have some timeslips next weekend... videos and pics too. According to the wideband the car is on the rich side, but it should be good for test passes to check out the suspension.

Between adding on to the house and everything else, just got around to taking the car out for a test drive. All I can say is... the 4400 conv and the MT 275/60's do not get along very well on the asphault. I've got to get it to the track.
The good news is that I put about 20 hwy miles on it with no issues. Temp, oil psi, voltage - all good. No vibration, motor runs out very smooth/strong to 7k.
I love the way the exhaust sounds. I went with 2 3/4" single chambered flowmasters about 18" off the collector turned down, very mean.

Story of my life...
Finally loaded the car and took it to the track last night. Fired it up to back it out of the trailor... soon as the front tires rolled off the gate a ticking noise started in the engine. Then, after about 15 secs of ticking, it sounded like someone threw a hand full of nuts and bolts in the engine. Lots of clanking, ticking, rattling. I killed it and winched it back up in the trailor and came home. The stars are just stacked against it I guess. I haven't pulled the valve covers yet to start looking for the problem. I'll get to that next week.

Got the valve covers pulled and ran the car a little. Valve train is fine... probably a compression ring or one of the fly-cut pistons I put in.

Got the motor out and tore down... #1 rod bearing. Guess it was time with 160k on that bottom end.
Bought a 6.0l truck short block. 408 stroker kit is on the way. Strange alum 3rd member is on the way. Just got to get heads and headers on the way.

Machine work is done on the block, '05 6.0 at 4.030. Balance Eagle assembly here and ready to go in, 317's at the head shop getting milled to yield 11.0:1 compression and PRC Extreme spring kit installed. ATI balancer and head studs are in the mail. Looking at roller rockers and headers now. Using the same cam from the old motor. New SLP oil pump and double roller set ready to go. Same water pump, ignition, carb, intake, etc from the old motor. This 11:1 408 should like that big camshaft alot better than that 346 did.
No idea what kind of power this thing should make.
Alum 3rd member looks slick in the Moser rear.
Possibly could have all back together end of next week before I go back to work.

Called Vengence on Friday and ordered 2 sets of the Comp trunion kits for the stock rockers... and got a 10% discount as they're running a sale right now.
Some bad news. Our local track, Twin City Dragway, is indefinately down and out. Seems that the owners and leasers can't get their ducks in a row. Hopefully they'll get it all straightened out, next closest track is 2.5-3 hrs away.

The Comp trunion upgrade wasn't that bad to put in. Went to a fastener store with my calipers and found the correct thickness washer to use for a jig, drilled out a piece of tubing for the topside, and vwa-la... no problems. Took about 1.5 hrs to do it start to finish. End-play(side to side, total) falls between .005-.009 across the board(much tighter than the stock set-up), and these don't have any play up and down like the stockers.
I did 2 sets if anyones interested in them.
