I run the screw in. If you have knurled now all you need to do is run the correct tap through the holes (1/2x20) srew the new studs in then tack weld them to the axle so they don't back out. You need to tack weld them as you will see they have some play in them because the standard hole for the knurled studs is a bit too large for the tap.

5/8 and be done with it. Only bad part, is you'll never put a street rim on the car again, but for a track car I wouldn't do it any other way.
I went with moroso screw in, nice big locking bolt on the back side to hold them on, no problems at all with them loosening up on me.
Plus if you do still venture out on the street at all, they're one of those things like the battery kill switch, people see that and know you mean business
