Anyone running MT 29.5x10.5 @ 150mph with a manual tranny?
I am trying to figure out how much this tire will grow at 150 mph.
I am try to pick the right gear that would get me 150 mph at 8,200 rpm taking into effect tire growth with a direct drive tranny like a stick.
I’m figuring that a 4.88 is about right.
What do you think?
Bob

Using my gearing calculator it gave me these results...
29.5" tire running exactly 150 mph you will need a 4.79 gear.
30.0" tire running exactly 150 mph you will need a 4.88 gear.
I think you are just about dead on, but if you want to max out exactly at 150 I would call Mickey Thompson, Hoosier, who ever the manufacture for your tires are and give them the exact tire description including whether or not you are running stiff walls, your weight, and anything else they ask for and they will be able to tell you what ammount of growth to expect.
