Heard it through a reliable source about a grudge match Saturday night at Beech Bend between QMP (LS1 Motorsports) and TEA is going down to the tune of 5 grand.
TEA having only run a 10.62 vs. the QMP car running a 9.87 doesn't look like too much of a match up but I hear the TEA guys have got the second stage on but QMP has added a bigger turbo to the mix.
Should prove to be an interesting race, and with 5 G's on the line, it could be a heated one as well.
I'll keep you guys posted on the results after it all goes down tomorrow night.

How about next time you need to pimp a race, just post it here or in the Lounge. There's no reason to post it in FOUR different sections.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Why is everyone making a big deal out of a $5K wager on a race. There are street races around here run quite often for that amount and more. Guys trailer their cars up to a local spot. I don' support that, but it happens. Five grand really isn't that much especially if you own your own shop. I still want to see that video though!

Okay, here you go. We put the T88 on my car and headed to the track with NO testing or tuning previously. I had the same converter in the car that we had ran 9.86 with (except with the T74 turbo then), and I had taken some gear out of the car. Dropped down to 3.25's from the 3.50's I had in the car a few weeks ago.
We were supposed to meet at the track at open (5pm). We were there at 5pm. I made the first run, couldn't get but ONE lb of boost on the line, 60ft'd an amazing 2.10 with ZERO tire spin, took 8 full seconds into the run before I could get 15lbs of boost, at which point the car went sideways, and managed an 11.23 @ 135.
The next pass was made about 2 hours later, and ran nearly identical. TEA still had not shown up, the track was packed, and we decided to call it a night, get dinner, and drive 2 hours back home. Apparently TEA showed up around 8pm and layed down a 10.10 @ 133 in my old C5. (Congrats Brian! Nice Run!! Sorry I missed it.)
So anyway, we are making a few changes now. Hopefully, we should be back DEEP into the 9's at the F-Body gathering September 19-21 in Bowling Green. Maybe me and Brian can schedule a re-match then? I need that $5.00 BAD.
Hope that helps.
