burkhart chassis has a real nice k-member. i like it because it works with my big block, its light weight, has a ring to winch you car up and plus the craftsmenship on it is awesome and made with chrome moly. the only thing is you need motor plates to use it.

I bought a BMR. If I could do it over again I'd go with Burkhart. I've bought a bunch of stuff from them lately and the quality of their stuff is much higher than anything else I've seen.

Burkhart is a great guy to deal with, and takes excellent care of his customers. He always answers my questions no matter how retarted they are. I've noticed alot of our so called "great sponsor's" act like they couldnt care less about helping after you but their product

I agree, I have been getting a lot of things from Chuck recently and love the customer service. That in itself would have me going back, but the high quality work he puts into his stuff gets me to pick up the phone and call him even quicker...

I say for a drag only setup, go Burkhart it is the easiest setup to have and swap motors and everything else, plus it is the lightest setup out there even with the K-member and motor plates it weighs less then the other guys K-member and stock style motor mounts...

The only downfall is it is not longer a simple bolt-in solution and you have to weld on the mounting tabs for the motor plates. If you set them up and just have someone weld them it shouldn't cost too much either. I was planing on mounting my plates with the motor still on the stock mounts (well my motor mounts aren't stock, but you get the idea), have the plate mounting tabs welded to the frame, then swap out the K-member. All in all it shouldn't be too hard, and that way the motor is in the same position that it is now...

Hello,

Our K-member is designed to handle drag racing and street abuse while a lot of the competitors advertise there item as "Race Only"

Our K-member comes out of the box with built in motor mount stands to use either the factory rubber motor mounts or Prothane polyurethane mounts... this is a nice feature because not everyone is running motor plates.

If you do decide to run motor plates you can purchase our K-member with out motor mounts for $50.00 less then the price on the site or $65.00 less with no motor mounts or powder coat. Here is a link to the powder coated K-member with LSx motor mounts- www.umiperformance.com/2320

If you have any questions regarding our product line please ask and I will be glad to help.

Thank you!
Ryan

I have an AJE K-member with struts (no spindles or upper a-arms). I like the quality of it and it fit well. My car isn't finished, so I can't tell you from experience how it works. I have seen Burkharts stuff in person, and it is second to none.

i chose the bmr. It was exactly 30lbs lighter then my stock unit. stock was 56lbs and the bmr was 26. Also the is a ton more room to work around now. And the bmr has intergreated motor mounts to eliminate the heavy cast units.
