Looks good, I bet you could pulll more wiring. My wiring pile is a little larger and it came from the factory as a carb car and I am also keeping the power locks and windows.

def more wiring to come out....just haven't gotten to that step yet.

got the new hood in today, so I thought i'd post the latest and show a lil more of what I cut out on the Interior:

nice to get in new parts....it weighed in at a hefty 16lbs

fit was REALLY nice - need to trim the cowl area, but thats pretty standard.

cut out all extra brackets and the roll bar on the interior - still got two left though and i'm DONE removing weight!!!!!!!

not a ton of noticable difference compared to the enginebay, but it all weighs something :yup:

haha I have em all stacked over on a shelf. I was tempted to build shelfs around the garage to see how many beers it takes to complete the project...but I'm not sure I have enough wall space already!

Those rear arm rest brackets are a mother ****** to get out. There's about 9 bajillion spot welds that hold them on. I didn't bother drilling mine. I just used an air grinder and cut around them. Then, I went back after I got the whole thing out and cut them out with the grinder and some pliers.

Don't forget the doors. I took 24 lbs out of my doors. Here's the best picture I have of all of it completed:

I did a write up on everything if you want to look at it:

if this is a race only car - no worries about the door mods - if you street drive that AT ALL you better pray you never get hit, those door bars are there for a reason.

^ He has a cage. Take everything out of the doors. I'm not going to get into the door bar debate again.

I concur - the cage is a lot stronger than the weak *** door bars, guaranteed...they are for sure coming out!

def not looking forward to the arm rest brackets - gonna consume a "couple" adult sodas completing that fawker!

really looking forward to the fab work on the front end....I wanna get that hood secure so I can start filling all the holes in for paint

As you can see it's rather large. From the research I've done the bars themselves weigh about 7 pounds a piece. I threw this one with all the extra parts of the brackets I cut out and together they weigh 8.78125 pounds for just the driver's side door. That's an extra 1.78125 pounds removed per door.

That brings the grand weight total removal for both doors to 24.46875 pounds.
if the drivers side was 8.78lb, and we assume the pass was the same, how does that evual 24lbs?

nice write up btw! def time consuming

speakers = 2.75 lbs
speaker brackets = 1.25 lbs
door fiberglass = 1.90625 lbs
Single door bar = 8.78125 lbs X2
Window Regulator Metal = 1.8846535171744791666666666666667 lbs

It's actually 25.35 lbs. I should update that thread.

new updates finally!

1 1/4" moly x .035 wall = LIGHT AS ****! 5lbs TOTAL in 9' of the 1 1/4", and 10' of 1/2" x .035 wall. progress has been filling all the misc holes, plating the rad support, some moly tubes welded up and more engine bay cut out:

before more engine bay cutting

and after

lots of holes filled - should turn out pretty smooth

as always, many thanks to 1cdub for all his fabrication skillz
lots more to come
