Looks good update wise. I'm still deciding if I should use aluminum or moly tubing for the front end when I cut mine off. I'm still not sure yet. I'd like to see how much your's will weigh once you are done.

Bad *** bro. My 99 Z28 is awaiting the same fate. I am going as light as I possibly can with that car. Gotta make room for the Turbo setup.

That looks really, really, really good . I bought some aluminum flat bar a little while ago and it was about $80 for a couple pieces. I'm sure using moly will save me money also.

Thanks everyone - really appreciate it! again - def wouldn't have been possible without 1cdub's help - hes a genius when it comes to fab work.

I'll get more pics of the final fab work soon before paint goes on. still gotta order fasteners for the hood, and plate off the front of the fenders.

I'll snap some better pics for ya showing you what I cut off up front. on the interior, I cut out all the seatbelt brackets, rear seat brackets, rear arm rest brackets, and center console bracket. not a ton of weight to save in there - guessing 15-20lbs???

Now how did you get the interior brackets off? Did you cut them off then grind the weld down or use a spot weld drill bit or just drilled them straight through? Im just gonna go to town on mine here in a bit but would like to go into it with some light on the subjust, lol. That color is pretty sweet too, its like a custom painted OEM car! Nobody's gonna call you a "***" when the ****** is draggin bumper!! haha

I used an air grinder with a cut off wheel on it. I started off trying to drill out all of the spot welds and about went insane. Afterwards I went back with a pair of pliers and used the grinder to cut the welds by holding the wheel parallel to the weld and coming down on it. I then pulled the rest of the tabs off with the pliers.

1cdub finished up the tabs for the front clip tonight and welded up all the 1/2" round tubing. still got some sheet metal work under the windshield, but other than that it's ready for grinding/body work. hoping to be ready for paint by xmas so I can do that while i'm on vac

all lines up very well

whats left to clean up:

gotta find some kind of trim for this piece of metal. this is just low pressure fuel line, but I want to find some kind of weather stripping
