so got a chance to take the z to the dyno today an im pretty impressed with it. first run i laid down 332rwhp an 344rwtq with the cutout closed an with it open it made 336rwhp an 350rwtq. the car has a flowmaster catback, underdrive pully, lid, ported maf ends an ported TB, and the cutout. i think these are pretty good numbers, what you guys think? an when i bought the car it came with the flowmaster catback an was curious to see if the cutout would improve it much more over the flowmaster. well as you can see i only gained 4rwhp an 6rwtq so all this talk about flowmaster not performing is bs in my cars case.
either way what you guys think about those numbers? that was on stock ls1 intake, stock manifolds, an stock y pipe with the cats still there.

Yeah I'd say those are pretty good numbers. Congrats!
I put down 334rwhp and 359rwtq with LT headers, 3" ORY, magnaflow catback, SLP lid, K&N and a tune.
Dunno how that stacks up tho.

yeah it was on a dyno jet at a reputable shop to. the inventor/co owner of super chips an the xcal programers owns the shop. his name is chris johnson an the shop is JMS motorsports. so the dyno is dead on im sure. ima talk to them an see what they can do about a dyno run or 2 to see what the intake gives me as im putting it on in the next week or so.

its all about how the dyno reads, a lot of people are extremely happy with there numbers and have very stout ones to be happy about, but that dyno can read higher than this dyno, all about the trap speeds baby, a number on a dyno, is just a number one a dyno.

nice numbers! got a graph?
the SAE correction usually brings numbers down 3%, and some cars peak high, but thats only for say 100 rpm, and over 1000rpms they avg less- and thats what matter, when you shift your rpms are dropping about 800-1300 RPM so if your avg through those RPMs is 320 vs a cars thats 310, youll win the race... even if that guys car has "350RWHP" and you only have "320RWHP"
all in all a dyno is just a number and the SAE corrected graph is the only thing that can really be used as a comparison...
sorry for the

ya, flowmaster is known to flow bad. plus a cutout doesnt do THAT much, it does help but with a good flowing CB you wont feel a difference... not all the exhaust escapes from the cutout either, if you watch while the motor is still cold, just as much smoke coming out of the cutout will be coming out from the tailpipes
