PRC 215 Head With TSP Tsunami Camshaft

Default PRC 215 Head With TSP Tsunami Camshaft

We have a customer that just finished his build on his C5 Z06. We did not install the parts or tune it here at Texas Speed. He just doesn't frequent the forums so I am posting this for him. The lower line on the graph was his stock LS6 heads with a 228/232 camshaft, LG long-tubes, some kind of catted mid-section that uses stock GM cats relocated, and Bassani axle back, stock LS6 intake and TB, and 25% UD pulley.

He had installed: PRC 215 heads, Texas Speed Tsunami camshaft, and the Texas Speed Ported FAST 92mm intake and Stock LS2 TB. No other changes (aside from tuning obviously) were made.



I am hoping to see the graph with the cats and Bassani dropped off soon. He said they saw 490rwhp and I can't recall the torque on that setup (17rwhp from freeing up the exhaust!)

How about setting the the CF to SAE, and Smoothing to 3 or higher for a more realistic graph ?? Won't the SAE numbers be about 8-15 lower depending on how advantageous the air was at the precise time you dyno'd with the CF set at STD ?? Either way pretty good results. I'd just like to see the graph put on par with everyone elses. (SAE and CF 3 or higher)

We're all aware of the correction. The customer just happened to email this copy to us. Hopefully we'll get a complete dyno in SAE when he pulls the cats off the car. I heard earlier the car is up over the 490rwhp mark with the cats removed.

Congrats to the guys, it's a ported TB, 100mm maf & electric water pump away from being WELL into the 500 range on a completely stock short-block independent rear car!!

Sorry Jason !! I misread Matt's post a bit. I thought he dyno'd at your shop. Went back and reread and see you guys didn't dyno the car. Just sold him the parts right ?

Its all good fellas. Can't wait to see the final numbers with a better flowing catback and ewp. 500 rwhp ? We'll see. Best of luck to your customer though !!!

What do you guys think about opening the 92mm FAST inlet up to 95mm or even 100 mm and running the larger tb like some guys on here have done with suceess? I can think of one guy with a forged 348 that did the 100 mm mod and he loves it. I have an LGM built/tuned forged 402 and one of Ron at Vengeance Racing's ported FAST 92's, he made the inlet 95mm and we used a rev xtreme 95 mm tb and picked up 6+ rwhp and 17 rwtq over the ls2 stock 90mm tb!! Just wondering if you guys pushing this at all.

We do open the inlet for the guys who want to run the PTM 95mm or Rev's 100mm This particular customer opted to go with the stock LS2 TB. Hopefully in the near future he'll have the TB ported, EWP installed, and throw on a larger MAF and see that 500rwhp mark. He's already happy as a clam though, so we'll see how soon he gets the itch for the 500 number!

Well maybe pass on to your customer that the gains were in the 3500-5000 range and would definately be something to think about. My gains were not "PEAK" but very much in the daily used rpm range. Just looked at the graph again and the gains start at 3000 and carry all the way to the 6800 limiter. An extra 17 rwtq was a very welcome surprise. His 346 should/could see 10 rwtq, maybe more.

How much can I expect to gain if I go to the PRC 215 head over the stock LS6 head?

Pewter I'd expect to see 35rwhp or so. If you'd like to do a 215 & ported 92mm combo some day shoot me a pm. I can put together a very reasonable quote for you to get us a little more dyno data. Your not very far from us

Numbers look good to me. So going from stock 243's and LS6 intake to PRC 215's and PORTED 90/90 is only worth 25RWTQ? I thought it would be a little higher than that. Either way they're still good results.

is that a LSK intake lobe?
curious if it required a flycut on a 60cc PRC 215
curious because the heads are setup pretty similar to the TFS heads...mine are 61cc and running GM MLS gaskets and swapping my cam (236 238 601 605 113+2 XER) to a (PatG 235 243 621 624 111+3 LSL) Curious the valve clearance I'll have
We calculated a tight .049 on the intake and we need to find out the valve drop(exhaust) on a milled to 61cc TFS 215 to figure exhaust valve clearance
