Default CalSpeed 424" LS3/LS7 heads Goes 611 rwhp N/A, 805 rwhp N20 on Mustang Dyno

Just had a customers 02 Z06 on the Mustang 1100SE dyno with some pleasing results.

Best numbers were 611 rwhp SAE N/A. (Not on a dyno jet mind you). 91 octane

On the single plate N20 setup we made 805 rwhp but had to shut it down immediately because we are out of fuel with the 255lph intank /w boost-a-pump, now upgrading to a twin-intank pump setup.

Shortblock - CSP LS3/LS7 Custom
CalSpeed (CSP) Built 424" - LS3 Block setup for LS7 head fitment.
4.105" x 4.00" - LS3 Block - Custom Wiseco Pistons
6.125" H-beam Rods, 4.00" Forged Crankshaft

Valvetrain/heads:
Tony Mamo was nice enough to take our bare CNC LS7 castings and do his magic to them and do some custom work on them. This was the first set of LS7 heads he had ever worked on, so he was pretty amazed to get 400 cfm on his flow bench.

-CSP/Mamo Custom Spec'ed CNC LS7 Cylinder Heads - Hand Finished by Tony Mamo (400.1 cfm), AFR Custom Double Spring (Speced by Tony Mamo), Custom Titanium intake / hollow stainless exhaust valves

-CSP LS7-XL Camshaft, Crane Billet Lifters, 3/8" Tapered Pushrods, Yella Terra LS7 Non-Adjustable Shaft Rockers,

-Ported LS7 Intake Manifold, 60lb Injectors, Factory LS7 fuel rail, 255lph intank pump /w Racetronix Wiring Kit, Boost-A-Pump

-Factory 85mm Z06 MAF, Haltech Intake, 1-7/8" ARH Longtubes /w 3" Corsa Catback, Meziere EWP, UD Pulley, Full accessories including a/c belt on.

-Dynoed on MT ET Streets 28x12.5

-RPM T-56, RPS Carbon Disc Clutch, 3.73 gears

-Custom CSP Nitrous System - Fully Automated Trick Performance Progressive - HSW Timing Retard, Custom hidden trunk enclosure.

I'll get a dyno graph uploaded shortly (ignore the spike where it lost signal during run). RWTQ was about 535 on other runs.

200 Jets in the Nitro Daves plate.

I dont have the flow sheet in front of me but the 400 cfm was @ .700 lift if I remember right.

Car idles smooth about 850-900 rpm, drives down the freeway in 6th gear like stock /w 3.90 rear gearing.

*Added graph.

Yes, we always use the correct loading for each vehicle. A friend of mine has a dynojet at his shop about 20 miles away...might be curious to see what it makes on a dynojet.

Cam is a custom grind...specs are big but nothing crazy

Nice #s . Did the fuel pressure fall off on the N2O pulls, or did power just fall off? I'm curious because I want to spray a 250 plate shot on my 416. I have a single 255 in tank. I guess I will need a double in tank.

WOW, that is some HUGE FREAKING POWER, n/a, out of a LS3 424 ci engine and those worked over LS7 heads and cam combo are obviously making INCREDIBLE POWER!

Congrats to builder, tuner and owner of this BEAST!

Power didnt fall off really but we would only be on spray for about 1 second and the lean shutoff would kick it off.

Single 255lph intank /w BAP etc wont support over 650 really. Twin intanks on stock fuel lines (in a C5) will get you to 700. We are going twin intank with -8 feed, -6 return right now to make it 1000 rwhp fuel system capable.

Making that kind of power on a purpose built nitrous motor is impressive. Making it on a mustang dyno with a nitrous motor is extremely impressive.

Nice work

Track is open on the 20th, with the good DA/air lately we expect some good MPH #'s...good ET will depend on the owners driving

and everyone who knows the owner knows he's old...
Also, a couple of errors: 373 gears, an RPS Twin Carbon clutch, and I thought it was 12:1 CR?
Also adding a crankcase vacuum pump which should pick up a few more ponies N/A.
All this was on 91oc gas and no KR. And we are going with a separate fuel tank/pump instead of the dual in tanks and 104 unleaded for the juice.
And keeping it under 800 for the motor's sake.
It should be a handful on the street.

I really hope the GZ motorsports vacuum pump setup has some pleasing results. They swear 20-30 rwhp would be normal results. I'd say 10 rwhp would be satisfying but we will see hopefully friday before the track this weekend.

Correction the fuel system: Nitro Dave's standalone fuel system instead of changing to twin pumps/aftermarket fuel lines/rails etc with some 104 unleaded in the 1-gallon fuel cell.

It seems like it's cheaper just to run the stock intank pump for the motor and do a standalone for the nitrous. That's my plan with my GTO anyway. I've got a Aeromotive A1000 laying around that I'm going to use to do a 3 or 4 gallon standalone in my trunk.

Those are great numbers. I didn't know the cylinder liners would take that much honing. Keep us updated, especially if you get in on a DJ.

I had forgotten about the thread....

UPDATE:

Added GZ Motorsports vacuum pump kit and dyno #'s jumped 10 rwhp to 621 rwhp. Added nitro daves standalone fuel system for the nitrous but havent dynoed it on that yet.

Hauled car to the track and grenaded the rearend and never got off the starting line (already has great parts in the rearend, now stepping up to a C6Z06 Rear Diff & Transmission from the Gforce T56 & now broken Unitrax diff)
