Default Almost 500rwhp NA ? ? ?

I just finished the LS2 swap. First run was 460 rwhp and last 495 tuned.

Some friends told me that there is someting wrong with the dynamometer, they couldnīt belive I almost have 500rwhp with my mods.

Here is the grafh

This is a Dynocom, the same weeek stock Camaro 2010 made 354rwhp and 370 rwhp tuned, and Z06ī01 made 380 rwhp with tune and no cats.

So I dont know if the dyno is geting biger numbres, another friend made 315rwhp in his Mustang `05 with bolts on, a thay after made 314 in a Dynojet in McAllen TX.

Uncorrected numbers were 440rwhp and with SAE correction went 495rwhp. Monterrey is 1640 ft, hum 65%, temp 87F.

Set up:

LS2 6.0L
TEA CNC PORTED 243īs 336CFMs
LG G5X3
LT LG STREET VERSION WO CATS
VARARAM
STOCK LS6 INTAKE
3.42 GEAR

So, please tell me if you belive this set up can make 495 rwhp.

Thanks

I don't see any reason to think those numbers are too high.

Hmmm, I'm undecided. I think the jury is out on this one. Good build though. Have you driven it yet? How hard does it put you into your seat ? Is the BUTT Dyno feeling like the car is making big power ?

With worst DNA the diference should be biger.

So, with that altitude and climate, do you think the SAE corrections are wrong?

I cant tell you if I feel diference couse I had the same set up, the only change was the shortblock and I dont have numbers witht 5.7

Doesn't sound completely out of line to me. Maybe a little on the high side but if you came on here claiming 470rwhp I wouldn't question it at all. Guys with LS2 GTOs have put out similar numbers with nice setups too. TEA really knows how to work over a set of heads too!

I could see that, but we're talking about 20hp... which is 4% of your number... I could see inconsistencies with a dyno of 4%. Either way, congrats on the combo, I bet its a lot of fun!

I don't think it's that far off. My lil 370ci pushes my 3900lb car to 124mph in the 1/4 on motor, and that's through a 3" steel drive shaft, 9" rear, 4.33's and 28" slicks. That puts me around the 500ish rwhp mark. Take that sucker to the track and see what she does....bet it flies!

I'll give my thought. Years ago I was on speed inc's dyno with my first set up. Their dyno gave me 423hp 407tq. I took the same set up to another dyno jet(to spray the n.o.s to see if it was safe)I got 390hp 380tq. I then went to a mustang dyno and got 370hp 350tq. All this with the same heads, cam, headers ect. either that dyno was giving out the numbers or your car is a freak. Your 1/4mi mph will tell a better story.

No, your car did not make 495 rwhp at 6K rpm.

I may would believe it at 6500,6600 but not at 6K.

Not hating, just the combo of the ls6 intake and peak hp at 6k rpm, just is not right. Not on a stock shortblock ls2

OK I am in the side of ppl who think that is too much to be true. But the question here is why? what could be wrong?

We will take tomorrow an 2008 Shelby GT500 in order to see if the dyno is getting more hp. How many ponys those things have?

Since it is stock, will be a nice reference.

My mistake, it is 338 cfms.

Tha other valves hit the piston in the LS6, I took the heads to fix valves ant use 2.04 and flycuted the LS2.

Track here wouldn`t be a good reference since it only mark reaction and ET, no 60fts nor trap speed.

So traction and speed couldn`t be taken as a factor

Like I said above, the fact that it peaks at 6k rpm just does not correlate to 49x rwhp out of a stock cube ls2.

I can believe that it peaks there because the ls6 intake won't let it breathe above that.

Also the run that it makes that power the curve is very odd. It looks like the dyno brake (I know NOTHING about a dyno-comm dyno) let loose and allowedd the rollers to accelerate faster.

You have a great combo. I am very impressed with it even at 460-470 rwhp. throw the FAST on there and I would have no problem with believing 495, becuase it would allow it to peak at 6500 or so.

Honestly, as long as you are happy with the car, none of this matters!

Please look the grafh, the 495 line goes away from the other when it cross the torque line.

I will take off that run and keep run 10 as dyno results, that one have the same curve than the others, so my car have arround 470 rwhp

This dyno is just on the high side. 354 for a stock camaro, ok if its a manual, but no way an auto L99. 380 for a tuned z06, no; it can happen, but heh.

470rwhp sound more legit, but still good numbers!

I mean you could be at 495rwhp on other dyno, but that would be a very strong setup for what you have!
