The new style truck intake (TBSS or 07+ 4.8/5.3) is the best.

When we had one of our TBSS's on the dyno with a ported ls2 90mm truck intake it still fell off after 6200 rpm. With our free flowin lowmount and ported 90 truck intake, 100mm maf, ported ls2 throttle body we seen about 98 kpa.

Mine was terrible with a 6 inch filter on it but now I have a 6 inch to 4 inch reducer at the end of the pipe. the 6 inch part is against my front grill catching lots of air and it breaths great at the track.

funny how that works

The truck intake is designed for trq down low, towing, hauling ETC. Whereas the Ls6 is the opposite and brings the power up high and of course outflows the Ls1 intakes and more than likely the truck intakes.
