Should be a drivers race between the SS and 11 gt.
not sure how 345 lb weight differential shakes out against a significant HP edge for the Gt500 though...

You'd have to consider the big'n'littles (much lighter than stock 19s) , slicks, 410rwhp and 1.6 60ft times as well.

well for starters, the 11 gt put down 405whp with the boltons and tune... That equals about 465hp at the crank. Factor in the 350lbs, wich means the gt500 would need another 35-40hp than the 11gt to keep up. So the gt500 needs 500hp to trap what the 11gt does with 465hp. Weight is a huge factor that gets overlooked, not to mention the bigs and skinnes on the 11gt are whats allowing it to 60ft so well and are making up for that other 40hp. Besides I think Ford overated alot of their cars in the past minus the 03-04 cobras. Not to many people out there can get the gt500 to hook up for **** anyways, just like the 03-04 cobras. That blower hits the tires with too much initial tq. Alot more than you think goes into a fast car, power is not the whole equation.

They could only do 13.2 stock...

Then with full suspension upper lowers panhard bar and braces it did 12.8

added bogarts and mickeys and went 12.4

added the bolt ons and has done 11.8's now

the have also managed to destroy the clutch in like two days. Apparently the driveshaft won't hold up much longer either.

Definitly a huge leap for mustangs tho. Finally a car that will really keep up. Can't wait to see a cammed one or two come out

I see the average joe only getting this car with bolt ons to run a 12.3. I'm sure evolution performance has a **** ton of suspension on this car.

13.2 is on the high side of what I have seen out of the 11 gt. They seem to be running anywhere from 12.8-13.2 range bone stock. The new camaros are trashing the clutches and half shafts with sticky tires aswell... I agree this is a huge leap for Ford, cant wait to run into one of these new 5.0's...

If you read the link, there was not alot of suspension mods done. Even if the "average joe" could only get it to run a 12.3, I would still be happy with it. Low 12's out of a 5.0 with minimal boltons is still awsome imo... Thats alot faster than most old 5.0's ran with every bolt-on and h/c lol. not to mention its about on par with what the SS is doing with similar mods...

i was one of ford biggest fans, i owned a bunch of them.... i became disappointed with ford because they could never keep up with Chevy unless u owned a 03-04 Cobra...now that Ford is back on the map, i just want to say Congratulations Ford....oh! and i won't be coming back...lol. And if any Ford lovers think the 11 GT will take down the mighty LS1, i have a 02 Z28 with only a few boltons that makes 322 to the rear, pulling both wheels 6-8 inches off the ground with a 1.54 60ft. and will prove it anytime. there are members on here that can verify this...or you can come to Great River Road Raceway

My gto went from 13.5 to 12.4 with exhaust, intake, tune and drag radials. So it's possible.
