I will talk with the builder this weekend on the intake runners. The chambers were opened up to 4.0 inches and the intake valve was increased to 2.20 and something to do with the angle of curves into the chamber. Sorry, I'm not an expert on engine building, just like to drive.

Don't quote me but I don't think a 2.20" valve will fit...

I didn't think so either, but I suppose you could machine the head to make it fit?

Default Another Setback

The tuner called yesterday and said the computer was locked and they would need the previous tuner's software to unlock the computer. Unfortunately we are unable to contact the previous tuner and will have to buy a new computer from the dealership and have it flashed. This will happen on Monday and should be tuned Tuesday evening.

I spoke with my engine builder and my previous post was incorrect, the intake is a 2.10 valve.

Will have updates on Tuesday evening.

Many of the PCM's are the same. Find a used one since you're going to flash it anyways. I think I'm running one from a 2001 pickup truck.

You beat me to the punch Kevin. If the OP buys a computer from the "STEALERSHIP" he's going to be out a lot more money then if finds a nice used one 01 or newer.

Must really suck running into one road block after another. Why in the hell did the previous tuner lock the god damn PCM? Its not there car, and its not even there tune after its paid for? WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about all the hold ups. Been waiting on some results, I wanna see this thing eat lightning and **** thunder.

Good luck on MON/TUES.

Yeah I hate when tuners lock PCM's. I never lock them cause it's not my car or PCM to lock.

Default Update

The engine is being tuned in Kansas City by "House of Boost". I have been very happy with their customer service and help trying to diagnose the problem. Last night I met with their team and confirmed the tune was locked by the previous tuner. The House of Boost tuner let me view his computer screen as they were trying to access the tune. An error message was displayed and stated something about a "password" or the computer was locked. They are attempting to locate a used computer I can purchase and then start on the tune on Saturday when the tuner returns from a business trip.

Just hit a couple salvage yards bro and find an 01 or newer if possible. You should be able to call and they should be able to pull up instantly what they have and if its what you need.

Sorry to hear about the continued delays. Hope its worth it in the end !!! Should be....

Default Tuner confirmed for Monday evening

The tuner is confirmed to start working on the tune on Monday evening. Unfortunately I will not be there to watch the dyno session. Should have numbers up later this week. I'm a little worried my 42LBS injectors and Holley 255 fuel pump will run out of capacity at the top end. Does anybody have any thoughts.

I did find a computer at the salvage yard, ($50) much better than $219 plus $189 for the flash and hauling the car to the dealership. I spoke with the performance shop doing the tuning to make sure I had the correct numbers off the back of the old computer, so I should be set.

Thanks,

CoopZ06

I was told not to go bigger than a 2.055 valve in my TFS 215cnc heads. I am building my 402ci at the moment so I have been following this thread pretty close. Could you maybe give me any ideas on porting them. I already know I am going to have to get my heads opened up to a 4" bore size.
Thanks

I am interested in seeing the results also, but remember the dyno is only a tuning tool. The track is where the results for a set up like yours will shine.

I think if your holley 255 lph pump is similar in capacity to my Racetronix with hotwire kit (NOT BAP) you should be fine. My 42 lb inj's were flow matched and tested. I'll say this, I have some room to grow up top. You should be fine.

Best of luck.

I agree. We ran 42# injectors and a Walbro 255 in our 445 and it was only at 85% DC running 9.40s so you should be fine. I am a firm believer in data logging a new set up, run good fuel and make sure you have a new fuel filter.

Keep us updated!

Default Tuning confirmed for tonight at 7PM

I just went by House of Boost and confirmed we will be tuning the car tonight (Great group, I have enjoyed working with them on the tuning). We went ahead and bought an in-line fuel pump just to make sure we have enough fuel at the upper RPM range.

We have 10 gallons of fresh Sunoco 112 in the tank and a new fuel filter. I will post an update later tonight.

42lbs injectors N/A, you calculate the BSFC they're good to 700hp, around 600rwhp if you figure 15% driveline loss, thats at 90% DC.

The Holley 255 EFI pump is Walbro GSS340, also 600rwhp is its max also.
