Me and my buddy (WS-Sick) finished the cam install on my newly owned '01 SS Camaro M6 last week. Got my Gomer tune, and was pleased with the results (for now). The cam is a custom grind from comp, 230i/232e on a 111lsa+2. The intake lobe is XFI while the exhaust is an XER. I know driveability is relative to the driver, but this car feels damn like stock on the street almost to me. It was the biggest pain in the *** until it got tuned, but once it was, feels fantastic. Surge is minimal after tune, but once you get used to when it does it, you adjust your driving to avoid it. Also, the wire that attaches to the spark plug wire to sense rpm had a bad connection, and lost connection around 5.2k-5.3k, so just ignore that
See attached file.

You're getting surge because it's on a 111lsa. The internet has hyped those cams up to "drive so well" but in REALITY, they do create surge down low compared to the 112-114 cams.
Nice cam choice though, the 230/232 is an effective grind. If you've got stock gearing, a 4:10 will really wake the car up and help out a LOT with any low rpm buck/surge issues that couldn't be tuned out.

yes, it's still on stock gearing. 4.10s are near in the future for her. posted is the torque graph with it. i meant to show that one in the first place. it has a spike in place for where the rpm sensor fucked up so the actual peak torque was only around 382 ft-lbs

Excellent numbers, that's going to make for a fun street car!
Same thing with spools. I was told by everyone that had a spool that I would hardly notice it, but I didn't even get 10 feet and was like, "WTF did I do to my car?!"
It's not a big deal as my car is only a weekend toy and I've gotten use to it, but for a daily driver I wouldn't want one at all.

Other mods are ported TB, pacesetter LT with ory and cut out, lid, ls6 intake, comp 918 springs, tsp hardended pushrods, and soon should be getting udp and gears here soon. if i could find a used fast intake i'd love to take it too, but couldn't pay retail for one currently
