very true, but even if not set up for the 1/4 a a time slip tells a very good story with the mph vs et at the 1/8 and 1/4 vs 60 ft

You are correct Pat. Too many variables to factor. New heads would require a custom cam. Would be interesting to see a head swap and then a custom cam swap. I know my 402 sure benefitted from a head swap, however the cam swap only yielded +2 rwhp while losing -2 rwtq.

if you could do it over again would you buy a new cam? i would hate losing 2 ft lbs and gaining 2hp.

pat have you spec'd a 500hp L92 cam yet?

This car is being set up for road racing and the mile as 98aggie posted. The clutch of choice will be a Z06 clutch from GM. There wont be any 1/4 mile times in this car, sorry. I plan to leave it well enough alone for now and get the coil overs installed next. However, I am already planning the next engine build for it when this one lets go. Thanks again Patrick for your time to get this just right for me. I am very aware that Im a pain in the **** when it comes to my cars Now its time to get on with that F-body build

I will send you my comment via PM so as not to muck up Pat G's thread.

Yes, several. The problem with the 6.0L and 6.2L L92 builds are that they are limited on piston to valve clearance. Anything over a 230-231 intake duration and anything earlier than a 112 intake centerline makes P to V tighter than .080". Many companies like selling cams that push P to V clearance tighter than this, but I'm not one of them. I don't like being blamed for kabooms.

Still, most of the items that Robert used on this LS2 build would help gain power on a 6.0L or 6.2L L92/LS3 head application:
FAST 102 LSX-R intake manifold (unported)
Nick Williams 102mm throttle body
4" straight pipe MAF-less or 105mm LPE MAF
Calloway Honker CAI
American Racing headers 1 7/8" with no cats
Custom cam, springs, retainers, DOD/VVT delete (if applicable)
Yella Terra Ultra Lite rockers
11/32" pushrods
UD pulley
Plus a razor sharp tune

great power. I am still lost on the fast 102 setup. Recently we put it on a 427 motor the 102 lost power compaired to the 92 but then you see threads like this where it worked great. I dont understand.

Was the 102 ported? The reason why I ask is because the 102 is better from the factory than the 92 was and some companies are making them WORSE by porting them. Another thing, the injector boss is a little different on the 102 and some heads may like the spray angle better than others.

Very nice. Just ordered the cam Patrick spec'd for me from Geoff last week and hope to get her installed next week!

Interestingly, that's a G5X3 with EPS lobes!

Those are crazy numbers with 243s!! I'll just keep my CNC'ed 243s if I ever put a bigger SB in my car!

Those EPS lobes are doing wonders paired with PatG spec! Awesome work!

Congrats!!!! goes to show you what pairing parts correctly does. I've been following Pat G for a few years now and he always makes awesome power from 243 heads especially now with the EPS lobes.
